Purchased the z3200ps to replace the hp designjet 500.

unless you really need a high detail photo plotter you may want to look else where, i am sure there are less expensive plotters that use fewer cartridges.

Does a great job for printing a highly detailed photos, thats if you start with a photo with a 8 meg + or larger file size. Does a good job with rolled or sheet fead paper

Its very expensive to maintain the ink. To replace all the ink costs over $1100.( it uses 12 large ink cartridges.)the plotter shuts down if the ink cartridge passes the exp. date or the cartridge gets close to empty, (not empty). Which seems to waste in

So far so good

Our cartography studio has had this machine only a few days. It replaces an HP 1055cm that reliably ran countless prints over seven years or more. That four-ink printer actually produced better results on plain paper than the new Z3200ps does. However...

On-board colorimeter, easy paper loading, fast hardware RIP. Printer functions as stand-alone print server for multi-workstation office. Both matte and glossy blacks are online; no waste ink when switching media

Poor results on uncoated paper, even smooth, white, heavy-weight stock. Must use coated media. Still plenty of gotcha's in color-managed print procedures. Very large chassis: 70 inches wide x 27 inches deep (44-inch print width)

Lousy sheet paper handling!

If you use a lot of sheet media you will be miserable! Difficult to load and very very slow once you jump through all the hoops. Print driver software very unfriendly. If I had not gotten a killer deal on this I would gone back to Epson printers.

HP Designjet Z3200 24" Printer

I have had the 24" Z3200 (non PS) for almost two years now and have probably printed close to 500' of roll paper on it, including prints for my recent show. Unlike the previous reviewer I have had nothing but great output and a great printing...

I'm spending another hour trying to load paper into my HP printer, every day it rejects the paper loaded. The process of reloading takes an hour because the printer continues to reject paper rolls. Sheet loaded media is worse. I can't believe HP would...
