HP Deskjet 2540 review

Can this low-cost printer deliver a high-quality performance?

Fantastic price ; Wi-Fi connectivity ; Mobile printing ; Good photo prints ; Acceptable text printing

No colour screen ; No borderless printing ; No auto Duplex ; No internal paper tray ; Slow

If you're looking for a solid photo printer or an all-in-one for the home office, look elsewhere. If, however, you bought your PC for email and the web, and want a cheap and cheerful inkjet to retire the battered old typewriter you use to write the...

HP Deskjet 2540 review - still one of the cheapest inkjets

With wireless networking and support for mobile printing, this MFP can't print photos but would work well in a home office

If you scan and print documents, but have little interest in photos, then this is a sound little MFP, albeit one with expensive mono costs. We'd have preferred more of an all-rounder, but if you're okay the scanning and photo printing limitations of...

A HP AiO Device : HP Deskjet 2540

It has been a while since I last had the opportunity to check out a HP printer. If memory serves me correct, this unit was a home photo printing model that I reported on in 2008. It was therefore quite a surprise when HP's PR agency rang me up out of...

The HP Deskjet 2540 is a multifunction device that offers print, scan and copy facilities with the option of either USB or wireless connectivity. With dimensions at the base of 398 x 195mm (W x D), this unit expands through its height of 156.60mm to a...

can be improved

n/a

- easy to use

- multiple papers are easily to be applied at single print, and an error could occur...it's always driving my parents crazy when using it.

Great printer for the price.

It's simple to use. The extra software it comes with is kind of annoying, but once you play with it, it's really not so bad! I was able to print out full color 4x7 images and they were FLAWLESS.

It doesn't always feed the pages. Quiet annoying, really. But that's the only issue I've run in to. I have one laptop that doesn't seem to like seeing it on the wireless, so I have to plug it in to see the printer. Out of all my wireless devices, I...

Literally the worst piece of technology I have ever bought

Seems to be a one off poor product, I have otherwise had excellent results buying HP printers.

Light, fits in small spaces. Excellent for preventing papers from blowing away in the wind.

Everything. The software that comes with it insists that you install 4 extra programs outside of the basic drivers and software, and it runs extremely poorly unless you install all of these non-essential programs. i.e. bloatware. It took 2-3 hours of...

ink!

wireless and scanner are great

ink runs out in no time, 20 pages maybe. You must buy HP branded cartridges or the printer refuses to print! It has software detection and if not HP branded it refuses to print!

This is the Best

This is a very good printer for the money. The printer is small enough to fit on the self but provides a quality print.

Superb little all in one printer

This is my 3rd HP all-in-one printer. Just like the previous ones, this one is very durable and rarely has a paper jam. Any issues I have had, have been my own doing. But it still works great!
