The Deskjet 5850 is designed to serve equally well as a small-office printer or as a photo lab in a networked home.

The 5850 makes sense for networked homes and workgroups that want to print high-quality photos, but the slightly coarse text it produces won't match the output of a monochrome laser for business correspondence

The HP Deskjet 5850 is a long, low, wide printer with a downward-curving, darkly tinted, clear-plastic top cover reminiscent of a teletype machine. However, not only is the HP 5850 unlike any teletype machine ever made, it is also rare among inkjets...

Wireless- or Ethernet-network ready; easy to set up; prints beautiful photographs.

Slow; expensive; plain-paper text is of middling quality.

This well-designed, wireless-network inkjet handles all the printing needs of a very small office.

"Awsome Wireless and Ethernet Printer!"

 

I love the speed and the easyness of setup and also I love the connections. It worked right away when I turned it on.

The only problem I had was the part of puttin in the cartriges without the printer on. Then I turned it on and it worked out fine.

I downloaded the driver from HP. I plugged it into my wireless router with the ethernet cable, but my Dell Laptop could'nt find it. So I just ran the driver with the printer un hooked from the wireless router and my computer found it very quickly. I was
