HP Color Laserjet 2600N Printer

The $399 HP Color LaserJet 2600n is easy to maintain and is best suited for a small workgroup with modest demands. Lightweight at only 40.5 pounds, the printer is also compact and should squeeze into the most cramped of workspaces.

Compact footprint

Lagging print speeds ; High costs per page

The four toner cartridges are the only replaceable parts, and they slide easily into individual slots behind the fold-down front door of the printer. The 2600n comes with full-capacity cartridges, though their rated capacities are modest: just 2500...

Lagging print speeds ; High costs per page

Small model is best suited for low-volume printing. Text looked very sharp. Estimated costs per page are high.

Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 2600n

HP Color LaserJet 2600n

With a lower price than some ink jet printers, the HP Color LaserJet 2600n ($400 street) is well positioned to take over the ink jet slot on desktops and small networks. It's ideal for SOHO users wanting to move up to a laser, as well as anyone who has...

Good performance for the price. Excellent text and good or better graphics and photo quality. Includes Ethernet connector

The ratings of good for photos and the high end of good for graphics are below the best available for color lasers

The HP Color LaserJet 2600n ties for the title of lowest-price color laser to date. But it ups the ante by including an Ethernet connection. Even better, it offers reasonably good performance and output quality, making it a strong contender as the...

HardwareCentral - HP Color LaserJet 2600N Review.

When you take the 2600N out of the box, the four toner cartridges are already stacked inside the printer, but you must remove, pull out a strip of sealing tape, and reinsert each one, along with removing various other pieces of tape and plastic and...

HP Color LaserJet 2600N Review

Smaller, lighter, cheaper, quieter, and easier to use than most under-$800 color lasers -- and faster when printing in color

Single-pass design is relatively slow for black-and-white jobs; excellent text and chart but mediocre photo output

The 2600N comes close to meeting HP's claim of a first-page-out printing time of 20 seconds; our one-page letter with spot-color company logo took 22 seconds (or 24 after letting the printer sit idle for a few hours to shift from its 190-watt working...

Inexpensive color laser cuts PostScript emulation and RAM

The LaserJet HP2600n's price is hard to beat, but picky printer shoppers might want to spend a little more for a printer with better image quality.

Great price ; increased paper capacity ; good quality text and graphics printing

No PostScript emulation ; minimum of built-in RAM ; photo prints looked undersaturated ; grayscale prints had a green cast

Setting up the printer was easy. Four toner cartridges come pre-installed, but you do need to pull them out to remove the shipping tape before starting up. You can connect the printer to your computer via a USB 2.0 cable or over a network by using...

Hewlett-Packard Laserjet 2600n

Compact and lightweight, good quality text printing.

Poor colour printing, too slow, high cost per page.

Given the 2600n's high costs per page and lagging print speeds, consider spending more for the much faster and more efficient Dell 3000cn.
