HP LaserJet Pro 400 Printer M401dn Review

HP has brought a couple of new printers to its existing LaserJet lineup and this new portfolio aims at providing customers with features that have been lacking in the previous models. There are three variants in their monochrome laser category and they...

Well, that sums up the list of features, let’s have a look at the real world performance of the printer.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n

Essentially a stripped-down version of the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn that I recently reviewed, the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n leaves out the dn model's duplexer (for two-sided printing) as well as its touch screen controls, support for Web apps, and...

High quality text. Ethernet. Total 300-sheet capacity standard with 50-sheet multipurpose tray. 800-sheet maximum

No duplexer, even as an option

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n monochrome laser printer is a good fit for micro and small offices that don't need duplex printing but need high-quality output and good paper handling otherwise.

decent printer

Comes with the HP web print service turned on by default. As soon as you plug the printer in to the network and power it on it starts talking to HP's servers over the net. Not something I'm interested in having in our office so had to take time to...

fast, has auto duplex feature, network ready, reasonable high-capacity toner cartridges available

The touch screen "appendage" seems odd, but works fine. I could see it getting bumped into frequently depending where the printer was located. It's just a little strange, but didn't prevent me from still liking the printer

Not bad

4 eggs since there was some negative, we will see how they fair after 100,000 pages.

I bought 3 of these so far. I've got at least 80 of the P2055dn. These duplex which is good and with the HP universal driver can be puched out easy over a printserver in server 2008. So far these are reliable printers. It has a touch screen which is a...

It has a huge touch screen. Why HP? Its not needed, keep things simple. It is also much louder than it's predecessor. The software that it came with too for ever to install. I ended up throwing it on a server to speed things up. Good thing it had a...

So far so good

Installed over two months ago for our controller. She prints checks, forms, and a bunch of trees....lol and so far so good, she has had no issues and the print quality and speed are excellent, it has a smaller foot print than the previous print device...

The way to go with HP 400 Pro

This is the third one we purchased and have had no issues with them. A nice printer but not as reliable as the old 4 series.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n

Good machine, for a home system. I have a feeling that these should be able to last awhile without any hardware problems.
