HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP

The HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf is an entry-level monochrome multifunction laser printer that cuts only a couple of corners on its way to supplying print, copy, scan, and fax functionality for only $200. Built-in autoduplexing for double-sided printing and...

The HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf is a compact mono laser MFP that boasts a cheap price, a compact design, dead-simple installation, and quick print speeds.

To hit its low price, the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf leaves off a few features, including autoduplexing, Wi-Fi, and a full-size paper tray.

The HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf is the company's cheapest monochrome multifunction laser printer. For the money, it earns our recommendation for its Smart Install feature and excellent value.

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP

The M1212nf can print and fax from, as well as scan to, a PC even over a network, it works as a standalone copier and fax machine, and it can send e-mail by automatically launching an e-mail message on your PC and adding a scanned document as an...

Small size. Automatic document feeder (ADF). Prints, scans, and faxes, even over a network. Standalone copier and fax

Low paper capacity. High cost per page. Manual duplexing only

The monochrome laser HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf offers fast printing, better-quality text than any inkjet, and a relatively full set of MFP features for a small or home office.

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf

This modestly priced and equipped mono-laser multifunction printer is a good fit for small/home office users who need good OCR capability and top text quality.

Fast; easy to set up and operate; accurate OCR capability; top-notch print quality

No Wi-Fi or automatic duplexer; moderate cost per page

The M1212nf may be a modest, no-frills multifunction printer, but it's a good fit for a budget-minded users who only print in low volumes. If that's you, you'll be pleased with its excellent output quality and performance

"Fix for scanning using W7"

Don't know where I found this driver but it works for me.

No cons. This driver solved all my problems.

"There appear to be drivers up to Windows 8."

The greed heads really make me angry because I will probably get a year's use out of this thing before it no longer works before I am forced to switch to windows 10. I am using Vista now, and unless somebody comes out with a new driver I am screwed AGAIN.

Very easy to set up.

The fact that the planned obsolescence of the scanner seems well nigh.

"Bad choice for business"

It prints fast, and it prints (relatively) cheap

"Scanner is Horrible for anything but tiny jobs!"

Do not buy this machine if you need a high capacity and great scanner. If you just want the "ability" to scan on the off chance that you need to scan one or two pages then it will be fine for you.

It works as a printer just fine. That is the only reason I gave it one full star by the way.

Loud. Misfeeds when grabbing pages to scan often jams. Scanning is insanely slow. Pages appear crooked on scans. Cannot handle large jobs and a large job is anything more than 30 pages for this machine.

Will Not Scan w Windows 7

When I installed my new Windows 7 computer onto this printer, the scan would no longer work and neither would the sheet feeder on the scan feature. I need to scan for my business. I contacted HP and was on the phone for almost 4 hours with the tech. He...

Fast printing, compact, cheap

Display is unviewable, no back light ; Will not scan on Windows 7 ; Sheet feeder will not work for scan feature ; HP Tech Support unable to solve, will not deal with it ; I am stuck

So far, so good. Easy Windows network installation.

More later.

Recent purchase. Out-of-box setup (shipping remove) goes smoothly by emblematic instruction. Copy and printing functions work well. Have not tested the fax function, yet

Scanning function does not initiate at the unit

Difficult setup

So far, so good, but definitely not plug-and-play.

Don't know yet about this printer, but my previous HP laser printer has lasted almost 15 years and is still cranking along. I got a new one mainly for something a little faster with copying capability

As other reviewers note, it does not come with the usb cable you need to connect it to your computer. Once I had the cable, I still had trouble getting started. My computer is a pc running Windows Vista 64. The auto-install program did not start automa
