HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP

The HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw is a midrange monochrome multifunction laser printer with copy, scan, and fax functionality in addition to standard print features. It also includes a number of incentives to attract small offices shopping for a new...

The HP LaserJet Pro's M1217nfw's driverless setup, auto document feeder, and range of connectivity options would make it a valuable addition to a small office.

The printer lacks automatic duplex printing, which may dissuade businesses with high print volume needs.

The LaserJet Pro M1217nfw is HP's workhorse printer designed for small businesses that output a high volume of monochrome prints. It's not the most environmentally friendly machine, but its Smart Install feature and excellent performance earn our...

HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP

Other than WiFi, the biggest difference between the M1217nfw and M1212nf is the addition of support for Apple AirPrint for printing over the WiFi connection. The printer also adds support for HP's ePrint, which lets you print through the cloud by...

Small. Automatic document feeder (ADF). WiFi. Prints, scans, copies, and faxes. Supports Apple AirPrint and HP ePrint

Low paper capacity. High cost per page. Manual duplexing only

Suitable as a shared MFP in a micro office or as a personal MFP, the HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP can print, scan, copy, and fax as well as print through the cloud.

HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw

From the vantage point of a quarter-century ago, HP's 2011 $249.99 LaserJet Professional M1217nfw would look nothing short of remarkable. By today's standards, the LaserJet Pro M1217nfw lacks some features, but this streamlined little workhorse is...

Exceptional print and scan quality ; Easy to set up and use ; Small, light, and easy to transport

No automatic duplexing ; No scanning from the control panel ; Costly consumables

Small and streamlined, this laser all-in-one prints great-looking business documents at respectable speeds. The price means a few sacrifices, however.

"Product lines are money pits."

(continued from cons)

fax and scan OK.

Both the LaserJet Pro M1212 and this 1217 they sent to replace it run out of toner after only half the number of pages the device expected to be able to process and kept on "printing" pages without toner so... (see summary)

"Lack of connectivity."

Avoid this printer.

Never got that far.

I've spent the last four hours trying to get this printer to connect to my wireless network. A HP technician has been remotely accessing my laptop connected to this printer for the past 90 minutes without success.

"Great all-in-one device; no disadvantages experienced"

So far, we are fully satisfied with the printer. The initial setup is quick and easy and the functionality to quick install drivers via Windows once the printer is in the wireless network is great. Printing and scanning is fast, as expected. It has...

Does absolutely what it is supposed to do, quick printing, quick installation under Windows 7.

First toner has smaller size than replacement ones you can buy --> you have to buy a new one quiet soon.

Works well, one big problem

Great product, with one important exception.

Fast, mostly does what it is supposed to do

Will only print at 300 dpi from document feeder, can't change to lower number which would vastly reduce size of saved files. Can change DPI only from flatbed scanner ; Can't contact HP for feedback on this major problem
