HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn

Fast and affordable, the $229 HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn is a monochrome laser printer that will appeal to home offices and small businesses. In addition to its fast print speeds, you'll come to appreciate its compact size and easy setup. The printer can...

The compact HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn is easy to set up, and offers rapid printing at an affordable price.

No cables are included, and some banding is evident in grayscale graphics.

Fast, cheap, and compact, the HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn offers a winning combination of value and performance for home offices or small businesses in need of a monochrome laser printer.

HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn

The HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn monochrome laser printer aims at small offices and home offices that prize speed. Despite its moderate price ($230 as of August 27, 2010), it delivers plenty of pep, along with good paper handling. Unfortunately, its high...

Fast ; Offers standard automatic duplexing

Expensive toner ; Unimpressive print quality for graphics

A small office or home office will like the speed and automatic duplexing, but the trade-off is pricey toner.

HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn

At 9.7 by 15.2 by 11.2 inches (HWD) and only 15.4 pounds, the P1606dn is both smaller and lighter than most inkjets. However, it's large enough to hold a 250-sheet paper tray as well as the built-in duplexer. In addition, the 10-sheet multipurpose tray...

Fast. High-quality text. Reasonably good paper capacity. Automatic duplexing. Ethernet connection

Photo quality is at the low end of the range for mono lasers

The HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn delivers fast speed, high-quality text, and reasonably good paper handling, but loses points for its graphics and photo quality.

Review: HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn monochrome laser printer

A small office or home office will like the speed and automatic duplexing, but the trade-off is pricey toner.

The LaserJet Pro P1606dn’s feature set is a definite step up from what you’d typically find in a low-end printer. It has a 250-sheet main input tray and, above that, a 10-sheet secondary tray for feeding letterhead or envelopes. The top-loading output...

HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn

Although this monochrome laser printer offers speedy, quality printing for small or home offices, buyers will want to weigh these features against its expensive toner and lack of Wi-Fi interface.

Speedy printing; sturdy casing; excellent output

High toner cost; flimsy plastic paper holder; no wireless interface

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

"Good product overall"

Over all works great with XP and as a local printer. Durable machine.

Quick install , fast printing

Network issues with Windows 7. Connecting this to Windows 7 32 machine through network causes constant print jobs to queue. fix is pending.

"Everything works as advertised."

I replaced a sick 15 year old HP LaserJet 5 that cost around $1500 to get features similar to those of the P1606dn. The main differences are the low price, small size and fantastic speed of the P1606dn and the 500 page capacity of the LJ5!

Fast, quiet and small.

None that I've found after five months.

"Do not buy this piece of junk"

Prints fast when it deigns to. 32 MB of memory, supposedly.

Very sensitive to when it's powered up. Get it wrong and the printer will be offline and refuse to go onlline. HP "Smart Install" is the worst POS ever dreamed up by a bored engineer. It's supposed to function as a small network drive inside the printer.

"no problem with this printer asyet, i love it!"

TRy it and love it!

cheap, fast, duplex, small, it prints from sleep!

it not color.
