HP Officejet J4680

The $130 HP Officejet J4680 is an all-in-one, which means it can also fax, copy, and scan in addition to print beautifully rendered documents and pictures. We rarely see sub-$150 printers with the extra features you get in the J4680: 802.11g Wi-Fi...

Inexpensive; auto-document feeder; Wi-Fi connectivity; driver settings provide helpful shortcuts; small footprint.

Painfully slow output speed; awkward page handling; lacks page status monitor and media card reader; low output page count; ships with shallow ink cartridges.

The HP Officejet J4680 offers more features at a cheaper price than most of its competitors, and small offices and home professionals will appreciate its print quality as well. Unfortunately, its negatives far outweigh the positives: your office...

HP OfficeJet J4680 All-in-One

HP's OfficeJet J4680 is a $130 (as of August 4, 2008) multifunction color inkjet printer that gives small- and home-office users a reasonable helping of business features at a really low price. Unfortunately, it falls short in speed and long-term economy.

Inexpensive; impressive print quality ; Wireless networking and ADF standard

Copies, scans, and prints photos slowly ; Costly inks

It offers SOHO users a lot of features for the price, but it's slow, and the inks can be costly.

HP officejet J4680 All-in-One Printer Review

Over the last couple of years all in Inkjet printers have pushed single function printers out of the market. A multifunction peripheral offers more convenience in less desk space than a separate copier, printer, and scanner, not to mention a huge...

HP Officejet J4680 All-in-One

Home-office users with heavy fax needs should take a close look at the Officejet J4680. Those looking for speed or a better performance-to-feature ratio might want to keep looking.

Excellent text quality; includes ADF; expansive faxing features

Slow printing; slow copying; subpar graphics and photo quality

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

Review: OfficeJet J4680 All-in-One

For $130, you might not be surprised to find print, scan, and copy capabilities in HP's OfficeJet J4680 multifunction ink-jet printer. But the J460 also has a built-in fax machine, wireless connectivity, and a 20-sheet auto document feeder.

Setting up the printer was easy enough: just attach the included USB and power cables, install the software and print cartridges, and you’re ready to go. There were also a couple of cool setup features I hadn’t seen before in an HP multifunction...

"A great home office printer at a great price."

HP support is a huge plus. I've had printers where when things go wrong and its all down hill from there. This one seems to have lots of documentation on the web on how to fix common setup problems or other printing issues.

-Wireless feature is great

It could not successfully print my friends wedding invites, but the paper was much thicker than a normal office paper. Don't expect this printer to do fancy or exotic printing that kinkos would, it just gets the job done, which is perfect for me.

"Decent older wireless-G all-in-1, but no mem card slots"

I think my Pros and Cons summarize this printer nicely. It's not the worst printer I've ever owned. The one thing that really bothers me is that it's so difficult to get the thing running. The software/driver takes forever to install and sometimes...

- All-in-one

- No color XL cartridge

"Can you spell J-U-N-K?"

First, I have to say that I've an HP printer enthusiast since the old HP 500 ink-series in the early 1990's. In fact, I have had an Officejet 7410 in my office for 8 years and it's still going strong.

VERY low price.

doesn't work!

"J4680 officejet: A monument to HP's decline!"

Last night I went by the Salvation Army store. I saw a stack of 11 of these J4680s stacked up in a pile on the floor. I just started laughing histerically.

I paid a littel more to get the document feeder. I paid a little more to get the wireless printing. I paid a little more for fax.

This printer will not stay connected to wireless router. Since the first week I bought it HP support (and a large number of other J4680 owners) have advised by to "give up." So I use it on a cord. And when I went to copy my old photos in teh document

"I don't plan to buy any more HP products."

Glad to get rid of it. I think I'll try a laser printer and a seperate scanner, but no more HP products. Clearly HP is focused on ink sales and not customer satisfaction.

Can't think of any.

Noisy. Makes clickety-clack sounds (plastic hitting plastic) when printing.
