The HP Officejet Pro K550 is a fast, affordable ink jet printer that's good for those who don't need great photos.

Impressively fast for business applications. Better-looking graphics and text than most ink jet printers. Duplexer option.

So-so photo quality.

The HP Officejet Pro K850 fits a small and very specific niche: offices that need low volumes of high-quality prints -- including wide-format prints. Otherwise, it's too expensive for a general-purpose single-function printer.

Slow prints ; Graphic and photo quality needs some improvement ; Expensive for a single-function printer

HP backs the K850 with a standard one-year warranty, though you can upgrade that to two or three years. HP's site has drivers, software downloads, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.

Not Business Quality

 

Bought this printer for a small business to print several hundred Tabloid size(11x17) newsletters every month, but the poor speed of the printjob(2 days for 200 prints) and terrible reliability(paper jams) have made this printer the most frustrating...

Very fast and efficient Draft Mode for letter size prints. A lot of printer's Draft Modes are unusable due to such low quality, but this HP works well for this purpose. Low ink consumption. Large ink cartridges. Large paper format; 13x19

Very poor paper loading mechanism. Frequently jams or loads multiple pages at once, but spread out so it will print a single page spread across three pieces of paper. Will not pick up paper when there is less than 10 pages in the tray. Terrible...

WARNING!!!!!

 

I have called HP, they know the printer does not print the custom sizes. I received an email stating it doesn't support "size greater than (13 x 19)". HP knows it doesn't support custom sizing, but continues to advertise it does.
