HP PhotoSmart A526

The HP Photosmart A526 is the entry-level model in the company's new line of snapshot printers. As we loved the Photosmart A826 , we were looking forward to this one, as we figured it to be a scaled-down version of that printer. Unfortunately, HP...

Low price; dead easy to use; easily portable; cute.

Fewer onboard features than the competition; requires a PC connection for image editing and enhancement; slow; photo quality needs some improvement.

The HP Photosmart A526 snapshot printer is meant to be simple and easy to use, but we found it simplified to a fault. There aren't enough options in standalone mode, and it's not as fast as the competition.

Photosmart A526 Thermal Inkjet Photo Printer

The Photosmart A526 is simple to use but very slow. The prints are worth the wait, though.

Inexpensive, Natural-looking color palette

Slow, Spartan controls

The Photosmart A526's minimal-options approach to printing photos will be a relief for some, a frustration for others. But it's the slow printing that dampens its value somewhat, even if the photos are worth the wait

Small. Lightweight. Prints 4-by-6s and up to 4-by-12-inch panoramas

Has trouble printing photos with dark areas

The HP Photosmart A526 Compact Photo Printer prints most photos reasonably well but has trouble printing photos with dark areas, such as shadowed backgrounds.

Don't waste your money or time

All I can say is this is really a terrible printer. Printed about a half dozen pictures -quality so-so. Couldn't figure out why then the pictures started printing very poor quality with a weird whitish color overlaying the pictures.

Just bought this on sale and am pleased with the quality of the prints. I had a kodak printer in the past and had planned on buying another to replace my broken one but couldn't beat the price I found this for. However, I agree with the person who...

This printer has NO options what so ever, you can't even zoom or crop or adjust any colors in the slightest. Also the print quality is substandard even on top quality expensive photopaper. The edges are not sharp on details in photos and the colors...
