HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One (multifunction, fax / copier / printer / scanner, , color)

The $300 HP Photosmart C6180 is a photo printer by name but has office-printer tendencies by function. The inclusion of an automatic document feeder, built-in networking (including wireless), and fax functionality make it attractive as an office...

Built-in networking, including wireless; supplies ADF and media card reader; PictBridge port can be used to connect storage devices; great print quality and good scan quality; dedicated photo paper tray.

Task speeds are a bit slow; color prints can be expensive; photo print features need to be fleshed out.

The HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-one tries to be everything to everyone, and ultimately it fails to meet this lofty goal. It's a good printer at a decent price, however, for the home user who wants to consolidate all tasks into one machine.

Prints ok but lots of short cumings

By far the biggest annoyance is the calibration that it goes through at exactly the wrong time - every time. It takes for ever to finish and sounds like its factory inside. The paper feed does not come out very far and the picture paper holder sits...

wireless, multi-sheet top feed

1st gripe - anytime you're in a rush - forget it! It goes through this 10 minute recalibration that sounds like it about to blow up. 2nd. printing envelopes is the biggest hassel. 3rd. clearing paper jams is a pain! Did I mention the re-calibration

Slow, Horrible design, and overly complicated features

Shame on me for assuming a multi printer that is designed for photo printing would work as well for everyday printing of black and white documents.

wireless connectivity, color/print quality

slow print times, goes "offline" often (troubleshooting has not worked so forced to delete/reinstall printer), bloated software, paper tray needs constant refill, jams easily, hard to unjam, won't print even to black if any cartridges need refill

This printer sucks!

I dislike this product because, it simply doesn't work. The features I'm sure would be great, if the printer actually worked. I've had many HP's over the years both at home and at work, and this one is making look at other companies for a printer. I...

Powers on and off constantly, confusing support on HP's site. It works great...when it works, which is rarely. I've replaced the power cord, punched in a bunch of diffrent codes with no luck in getting this printer to work more than 30% of the time

Constantly power cycles, can't use the wifi (it crashes when you do), and it's noisy. I've spent MANY hours on the net trying to fix it. I've tried all kinds of things with no luck

Welcome to the fun, then the stress...

The time you will spend to configure the machine and to change very expensive ink you'd better going to the print shop in town... Just a rip off ! This printer is a dictator and this way making us so often changing ink is just not fair from HP...

Very complete machine and with good quality of printing, But

Setting long and complicated, noisy machine and especially very expensive inks

Pros: wireless, easy setup and compatible with multiple PC's in my home all running different versions of Windows. Adequate instant copying capability

Cons: With very light (personal) use the printer only lasted 2 years...unrecoverable error due to a power supply problem. If one uses the document feeder to scan...expect noticeable streaks

A smart idea and was thrilled with the printer at first...but I question whether I'll buy another HP printer.

Quality printing while it lasted

Ink is not waterproof and will bleed if any moisture contacts your paper. Scanning is below average. Ink is expensive. Printer died after a year of ownership

BEWARE! Lasted 1 year before continuously rebooting!

After about a year it started the continuous shut down and reboots every 20 seconds or so. (Like others reported) Hard rebooting with # 6 code did not work. What a waste! I'm done with HP!!!
