Review: HP Photosmart C6380 multifunction device

By Derrick Story (macworld.com)

The Photosmart C6380 printer is best designed for the photo enthusiast who also needs occasional plain paper output and document copying.

High quality photo output ; easy to set up WiFi networking ; Mac friendly software ; handy 2.4” LCD screen with easy to use menus ; single color ink cartridges

Too noisy for quiet areas ; no USB cable in the box ; not easy to duplicate prints with borders ; large prints will drain ink cartridges quickly

The C6380 prints documents up to 8.5 by 11 inches from the 125 sheet paper tray, and includes a dedicated 20-sheet photo tray for 4-by-6 and 5-by-7 prints. It has a 4,000 dpi, 48-bit color flatbed scanner that serves double duty as a copier, a 2.4 ...

"Waste of money"

By sabatu1 (cnet.com)

Don't buy this printer. Please don't buy it. ...

Nothing, absolutely nothing. It functioned as a printer for about 3 days, then over the next month about 5 different things have gone wrong with it. Now its an oversized paperweight

It reports a paper jam when their is no paper jam. The wireless functionality constantly fluctuates, it 'forgets' wireless network functionality. It uses an insane amount of ink when it does work

Printing speed is great. Prints beautiful pictures

Chances of getting a machine that works the first time is very slim. This is not a dependable machine. I had to return the machine twice. HP Customer Service was no help

Prints quickly, easy to use, good images, fair enough ink usage (in my opinion)

I cannot fit the number of cons in this space. The printer worked beautifully...until the day that it died, after 6 months of use. Turned out the power cable was bad, but do you think HP Tech support was helpful in this matter? No! More below
