Given how large the universe of $100 photo printers has grown, it can be difficult to decide exactly which one to throw your 100 bones toward.

Prints gorgeous photos, albeit a tad slowly. Printing from a memory card is a snap

Software makes it more difficult than necessary to print photos from within an image editor

Despite a clunky process for printing photos from within an image editor, the Photosmart D5460 turns out gorgeous photos and doesn't consume ink like a pig at the trough the way some printers in its class do. For 100 bucks, it's a fabulous value.

HP's Photosmart D5460 inkjet printer is a bargain that you can brag about. Though it's a bare-bones printer in most respects, it has a few standout features that any photo enthusiast would love to have.

Great photo printer

 

I purchased this printer mainly for it's reputation for great photo results. I was not disappointed! People ask me all the time if I printed those pics myself or sent them to a lab. Only downside is it does go through ink fast at highest quality...

The print yield is no where near what HP claims. Even in draft mode, the most modest user will be replacing cartridges often. With the standard yield cartridges, you will get about 4-6 photos at best (4"x6" paper). With the extra capacity cartridges...

Excellent print quality. The photo quality is amazing. Has separate photo paper tray and an adapter that allows you to print on printable CD's/DVD's

This printer is a BIG ink HOG. Even in draft mode, you will go through a lot of expensive ink cartridges with this printer

Don't purchase this printer unless you absolutely have to print onto cd/dvd's

Ink disposal unit

 

If you need a way to dispose of a lot of expensive ink, I highly recommend this unit. You will spend a lot of time trouble shooting and money on ink. You might even get a few of pictures out of the deal.
