HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m inkjet multifunction

 

HP has employed Touchsmart technology in this inkjet multifunction printer

Produces great photos, Touchsmart control panel is responsive, Snapfish by HP access, automatic duplexing

Can't print document files directly from USB drives and memory cards, inconsistent Wi-Fi access, no CD/DVD printing, no scan settings on control panel, expensive consumables

The HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m is great for printing photos, both from memory cards and HP's Snapfish service. However, it lacks several features and we had some issues when connecting to a wireless network.

HP Photosmart Premium C309g

 

HP joins the touchscreen LCD club with this new inkjet all-in-one.

The rest of the software installation provides the usual basic file management and OCR, as well as useful applets like HP Smart Web Printing. There's driver support on the supplied CD for Windows from XP onwards and OS X from version 10.4.

The Photosmart Premium is a nifty little multifunction with the added novelty of a touchscreen. It does a great job of plain text, but it's a pity about its colour prints.

Only passable photo quality ; No fax functionality

Unless you're the type of person to use your multifunction printer as a stand-alone unit, without tethering it to a computer, you won't find much use for the touchscreen interface, even though it's intuitive and very well designed. However, if you want...

Scans quickly, prints decent ; Got it for a good price (not at newegg though) for having an ethernet port, and fax port

Printer FAIL, Scanner FAIL, Networking FAIL

 

AVOID this printer at all costs. I got $150 off list, and still feel like I was ripped off. The first ink refill, after less than 300 pages, cost $100.

Snazzy touch screen

Printer locks up constantly, often requiring pulling the power cord to restart. It sucks up ink like a drunken sailor at Octoberfest. It takes several minutes to restart. It does NOT print 33 ppm ... not even close. The scanner TWAIN drivers crash all...

WOW! Awesome!

 

I ordered this printer because I wanted the ability to print photos straight from my iPhone. This printer connects to your network and has a built in WiFi radio, with that and the free iPhone app from HP "HP iPrint" my wireless printing woes were solved.

Amazing quality photos and super fast printing. WiFi, Bluetooth, Front and Back printing.... Need I say more
