Nice laptop

Very nice overall. Fast laptop, nice screen, nice case, etc. I bought this for my wife and she loves it, and I'm considering one for myself

Battery died after only 2 months. I contacted HP and they determined it was bad and overnighted me a new battery. I was very pleased with the HP support

I would look for other options

If you are trying to purchase this one, my advice is please look for other options. There are many GOOD quality laptops available for the same price

Wide Screen Display ; I can't think of any others

Cost - Not worth the Money ; Windows 7 - for some reasons it is giving troubles everyday ; Speakers - not up to the mark ; Performance - Overall performance is very slow ; Incompatibility - Being 64 bit OS, it is highly incompatible - had installed...

HP's quality is going down hill fast

I've had a lot of HP laptops lately in my shop. They come in waves, and you can tell they were made roughly at the same time. HP laptops have serious motherboard issues frequently. This laptop has not yet had this happen however, but I feel I should...

Again, the quality of HP products is SO LOW I don't carry any HP laptops anymore. The only thing HP is in my life with is laser printers, and networking products because they bought out 3com, whom I was partners with for a while, now I guess i'm an HP...

Don't buy Refurbished

Think twice before you buy a refurbished machine. I wasted a lot of time and had to reinstall all software on new machine. It's not worth the savings. Why are there so many of the G71's that are refurbished? Suggests poor quality control at HP

Nice Screen and Full Size Keyboard. Excellent touch pad. Good Wireless reception. Great value. Newegg return was very easy, great service

2 USB ports did not work, tech support could not fix, had to return machine to Newegg for replacement. HP Tech support was a waste of time. Problems like this should be found before machines are shipped. Lacks Blue Tooth connection. Computer case was...

Excellent Bang For The Buck

Great Machine for the money cant go wrong.

It has all the high end features for half the price. DDR3 Ram, LED screen, 7400RPM HDD, 800 MHZ FSB, 12 Cell Battery and HDMI out. Its very fast boots up in 20 seconds not a gaming machine but a great multi media one. Set up was simple I'm running Word...

I must be missing something. Don't get me wrong, the G71 is pretty and shiny w/320 gig it has better storage. It boots up faster. I'm going to install System Mechanic and see if that helps - it is a good piece of software but don't ask for help,...

It is shiny and new. It is large and with an easy to type keyboard. Windows 7 - maybe a plus, I'm used to using XP pro and this is Widows 7 home premium version (don't waste your money on this version). XP pro is about 184.00 and it is still the...

SLOW Network connections is very different than XP - I personally don't the new connection config - at all. The screen is 17.3 inch's diagonal but only 1/4 Inch taller than my 15.5 inch Dell Inspiron i6000. My older Dell was a special build with a...

Only 100mb ethernet

I'll keep it, but wouldn't have bought it had I known

Handsome looking

A pretty bare bones system. No bluetooth, and I was shocked to discover that in this day and age, this thing doesn't have gigabit ethernet

Great desktop replacement

Given the HD screen, a blu-ray drive would've been nice, though granted it would've sent the price skyrocketing. Either way, I'm pleased with the product.

I have to say I am quite impressed with this laptop. The screen quality is great and so far I have had no issues with it. I'm a big fan of HP products and haven't been disappointed yet

A big con for me was the size of the hard drive (which is also a bit on the noisy side, though not overwhelmingly so). 320GB is quite a bit of storage space, I know, but for this laptop it seems a bit small

Good For The Money

I haven't played any games on it yet (since I bought it for my significant other), but I am a little skeptical that it will be able to play games very well that require intense graphics. So far we are extremely satisfied with it. I would recommend this...

A little background, I am an IT consultant, didn't want to spend too much for a laptop, but wanted to get as much as possible for my price. I check all over, not allowed to specify the business but it was over 7 major computer retailers and this was...

No dedicated video card, which makes Windows 7 Aero not work. It is a figure print magnet, however if you want shiny that is the price you pay :). 90 warranty

Sleek design, blazing speeds, great video. NOT loaded with tons of HP software. Thoroughly impressed with this "recert HP" laptop..... never thought i'd be happy with anything from HP. i normally build my own systems. this made an excellent present for...
