HP TopShot Color MFP Scans 3D Objects

The new HP TopShot Laserjet Pro M275 is a color laser multifunction printer (MFP) that prints, copies, and scans, and it also comes with something extra: an elevated, 8-megapixel camera that makes taking images of small three-dimensional (3D) objects...

Innovative design improves photos of small objects

Slow performance ; Expensive toner

The elevated camera and automated image processing should appeal to those who take a lot of product shots. The rest of the machine is pretty good, but toner is expensive.

HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275

Depending on how you define MFP, the HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 ($399.99 direct) either isn't an MFP at all, or it's an MFP (multi-function printer) with a difference. It's built around a color laser printer, with high-quality output for text,...

Scans (or, more precisely, photographs) 3D objects. High-quality output for text, graphics, and photos

Although the scanner handles 3D objects unusually well (for a scanner), its usability for traditional scanning is limited

The HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 MFP offers high quality output across the board and an unusual scanner (a camera really), designed primarily for scanning 3D objects.

Review: HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275

The HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 sports a novel 3D scanner, but also provides traditional MFP functionality with real value, the CRN Test Center finds.

The bottom line: The TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 is a very cool multi-function printer that’s priced aggressively and doesn’t get in the way of getting a job done.

HP is changing things up again with the HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 laser multifunction printer, the first in its class to make 3D scanning accessible to the SMB market.

3D scans, copies ; Good print quality ; HP ePrint, Web Apps

Manual duplexing ; No front side USB ; Slow color print speeds

The HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 is available now through HP and authorized vendors for the suggested retail price of $399.99.

For those who wish to sell

Length:: 8:16 Mins Very impressed with this specialist printer. I was initially perturbed by its mere 600dpi spec until I realised that this printer is made for the web and for plain paper printing. You print irrespective of lighting conditions and you...

If you really need to scan 3D objects, this is innovative - otherwise not great as all rounder

How delighted or otherwise you will be with this printer/scanner depends entirely on what your main reason for needing one is. The innovation with the M275 is that instead of the typical flatbed scanner, it uses digital camera on a raised arm that...

not such a top shot!

I had to replace my good old HP 2600n, the toners were ridiculously expensive and this was supposed to be the better. It is not, it is very noisy, too particular on what paper you use, the toners supplied with the machine are already on very low, but...
