Kodak Office Hero 6.1

Among inkjet printers you can buy today, it's easy to typecast Kodak's ESP line of single-function and all-in-one (AIO) models as the no-frills, supermarket brand. But like with some supermarket brands, if you choose right, you can save a bundle.

Good-looking print and scan quality ; Built-in, auto-duplexing document feeder ; Relatively low cost of consumables

Uses just two ink cartridges for a six-ink system ; Performance is a little slow ; Doesn't copy skin tones well

This inkjet printer provides almost every feature home offices need in a multifunction inkjet, including frugal consumables and good-looking output. Its one major vice? It's a tad slow.

Kodak Office Hero 6.1 review

Kodak's Hero range of printers give good quality printing, copying and scanning at a low cost per page. The Office Hero 6.1 is no exception.

It’s inexpensive to replace the ink cartridges in the Hero 6.1 and the cost per page is low for a printer in this class. In times like these, when it’s still essential to cut the bottom line, it’s good to find a device that’s economical without...

Kodak Office Hero 6.1

The Office Hero 6.1 is Kodak's latest SOHO all-in-one, and includes a duplex scanner. Is this the advantage it appears?

Very low consumable costs ; Good quality photo prints ; 61cm LCD

Poor quality copies ; Maintain layout option doesn’t ; No scan/print interleave on collated copies

Software is based on Kodak’s AIOCenter suite and includes OCR software. Surprisingly we had to update both the driver and printer firmware straight away, despite this being a ‘brand new’ machine.

Kodak office hero 6.1 review

A square-cut, wireless, full duplex all-in-one with ADF and low running costs. What's not to like? . Kodak has risen from a latecomer at the all-in-one ball, to...

Full duplex copying as well as print

Duplex pages reduce in size, by around 10-percent

The office hero 6.1 produces good plain paper and photo prints. Remote print is handy, if you need to print from a phone or tablet, but the printer’s main advantage is still low ink costs. The slow print speeds and annoying reduction in duplex page...

Kodak Office Hero 6.1 review

Kodak's Office Hero combines copying, scanning, faxing and printing in an all round package.

Very low running costs; good text print quality and bright, clear photo prints; includes fax machine

Big, bulky and slow

Still, the printer does partly compensate for those slow print speeds by offering very low running costs. Kodak quotes cost-per-page figures of just under 2p for black and white, and 5.5p for colour. Those figures are very competitive – and, in fact,...

Time will tell if this second printer doesn't die like the first one.

Licked this up somewhere else. Lots of features and decent print quality and ease of operation. can set up the printer to print from ANY device from ANYWHERE!. Converts remotely printed docs to PDF and almost instantly prints. Can be setup to print to...

Died within 20 days. Contacted Kodak Support and within 2 days had a new one on my doorstep no charge without any hassle. This printer CANNOT be installed on Windows XP 64. Have it installed on a Win7 and just print via email, etc. from Win XP

Kodak Office Hero 6.1

So many functions ; the double-sided printing works well ; wifi printing is nice (though I have to start the printer before my mac for the connection to work) ; having double-sided colour copying is a nice bonus ; cheap ink is GREAT!! - no need to...

None so far, but we haven't been using it for long
