Kyocera Mita FS-C5150DN

There's very little to dislike about Kyocera Mita's FS-C5150DN colour laser. It has the speed and feature set of a much more expensive machine.

Front panel USB port ; 250 + 50-sheet multipurpose tray ; Comparatively low running costs

Toner set is more expensive than printer ; Bigger LCD would help USB print ; Default sleep mode a bit quick

The four toner cartridges clip in under the hinge-up top cover and preparation takes 10 minutes or so, as the toner is fed down into the machine. After that, the only maintenance is replacing toner and the waste bottle, which fits behind a flip-out...

Kyocera Mita FS-C5150DN review

Kyocera's FS-C5150DN is a heavy duty printer that's designed to handle the high page yields required by small-to-medium businesses. Unlike many of its rivals, Kyocera doesn't quote one-time maximum monthly duty cycle figures, and instead recommends a...

Its colour prints are slow and lack a glossy sheen, but the FS-C5150DN is great value

Kyocera FS-C5150DN review

Very much the quintessential workgroup printer, the Kyocera Mita FS-C5150DN is an impressive colour laser that's only let down by slightly disappointing performance.

Overall, the Kyocera FS-C5150DN promised slightly more on paper then it did in reality. If you might want to take advantage of its high paper handling potential then this is a strong contender. In its standard form, though, it isn't quite as good as...

Kyocera FS-C5150DN review - a low priced laser

It's not the fastest printer in this group, but Kyocera's FS-C5150DN is competitively priced and offers attractive running costs for both mono and colour printing.

Low purchase price; competitively priced toner cartridges

No Wi-Fi or AirPrint; colour printing is relatively slow

If you need to print lots of colour documents every day then the FS-C5150DN may not be fast enough for you. However, its competitive running costs ensure that it is still a good choice for any business that needs a high-quality printer that will help...

Kyocera FS-C5150DN review

A lengthy two-year warranty makes Kyocera's FS-C5150DN a good bet, despite its size and weight

Strong potential paper-handling capabilities make it ideal for a busy office; 1,300-sheet capacity; joint-lowest running costs of those on test

Promises more on paper than it delivers; not as attractive an option as the Canon, Epson or Xerox

The Kyocera isn’t the fastest to get started though, and our two-page PDF took 17 seconds to print. In text terms, the Kyocera matches the Canon to offer the joint-lowest running costs here at 1.4p per page. Colour is a little more expensive at 8.6p...

Kyocera FS-C5150DN - printer - color - laser

Having problems getting spiceworks to pick up the name of this device rather then the IP.

Consumer review by:

Excellent buy

This printer has revolutionised my work. My previous printer was an Epson DX5050 inkjet, which took 6 hours to print a particular set of documents. This printer took less than 20 minutes to do the same job - and I did not have to stand over it to check...

Good quality print; excellent after-sales support

Print quality is good and paper handling for duplex work is smooth. The machine originally delivered printed small dots in spaces that should have been blank: Kyocera were very helpful and immediately sent a replacement. My one negative would be the...
