Canon Pixma MX420

The Canon Pixma MX420 lies in that tricky-to-shop-in, midpriced range of color inkjet multifunction printers. Costing just $150 (as of April 6, 2011), it offers print, copy, scan, and fax capabilities, but certain missing features limit it to...

Automatic document feeder ; Easy-to-use design

Duplexing is manual and PC-only ; Expensive black ink

Fax capabilities come cheaply in the MX420, but meager paper handling and costly black ink limit this model to low-volume use.

Canon Pixma MX420 Wireless Inkjet Office All-in-One

The MX420 prints, copies, scans, and faxes. It can scan to e-mail (it'll open up your e-mail client and attach a scan to a new message), and fax either from your PC or your computer. A 30-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) lets you scan, copy, or...

Good feature set. Fax and ADF. Ethernet and WiFi connectivity

Relatively slow for the price. Mediocre output quality

The Canon Pixma MX420 Wireless Inkjet Office All-in-One provides a solid set of features that puts it in good stead for a dual role of home and home-office MFP.

Review: Canon Pixma MX420 printer offers fax on the cheap

Fax capabilities come cheaply in the MX420, but meager paper handling and costly black ink limit this model to low-volume use.

Setup on the Windows platform was easy. USB, ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity are available. The only hitch occurred during Mac installation, which presented us with two separate entries in the Add Printer dialog box: one listed as Bonjour-connected...

Canon Pixma MX420

Budget office all-in-one (AIO) printers, especially inkjet-based ones, are adding so much functionality these days that it's increasingly hard to typecast them as limited-use machines. In its update to the Pixma MX340, Canon has added some unexpected...

Excellent print quality ; Quick photo-printing speeds ; Automatic document feeder

Noisy ; Slow document-printing times ; Single color cartridge

This inkjet all-in-one will work for budget-minded small offices that can afford to sacrifice a bit of speed to get top-quality printing and a stuffed feature set.

Awesomeness

After using products by HP and Epson in the past which were dogged with problems. I'm really happy with Canon and is unlikely to change. In malaysia, all MX426 comes with a free Panasonic cordless phone, which is fantastic.

Fast Printing, Good Value for money, Nice design, Looks like a premium product, Quick startup, nice LCD screen, ease of use, comes with a telephone port, superb quality for the price, good after-sales service, 3 years warranty (Malaysia. )

Fax mode does not have a ringtone unless you plus it to a phone, ink is slightly more expensive than my old HP to use overall, instruction book is not complete as I had to take many steps on my own which were not in the manual

glad i got a canon i am a much happier now!!!

have not had long.. so am still learning what all it will/won't do.. last 3 printers (in 5 years) were hp- just kept having more and more problems... software compatibility issues-last printer the scan stopped working- paper jams - stalled ink...

set up was fairly easy ; more options than i need at the moment for a great price ($100) ; no software compatibility issues so far ; print quality better than i expected ; ink not much more than i was paying for my previous hp printer

it is larger than i wanted in a printer - taking up more desk space ; but i can deal with this

Solid printer, fax, scanner and scanner. Simple to use.

Great all in one at a great price. Solid look and feel. An all in one that everyone will appreciate.

Ease of use, ease of integration into network, good quality, great price ($79 Canadian at The Source), everyone likes it

A little more expensive to use (ink) but unlike my experience with Brother products the machine just keeps working

Canon has won me over

As far as printers were concern, I have always been a HP kind of guy - for a couple of decades now. However, my last couple of HP printers (the last one being HP Officejet 6310 All-in-one) had been pretty disappointing in terms of reliability and ink...
