Just what we wanted

Make sure you have a USB printer cable on hand, as this, like every other printer on the planet, doesn't ship with one. Newegg has a nice 10' cable for 3 bucks.

Tired of paying for constant inkjet refills, I wanted an inexpensive and dependable laser printer that could handle simple black and white printing for our household. The Brother HL2140 has been perfect for our needs. We rarely use our money sucking...

So far, so good.

Have only used it for just over 7 months, printing a couple of pages per week. So I don't know if there will be any problems with the toner when it comes time to change it. So far though, it's definitely been worth the money.

Great price ; Good print speed and improved software (compared to Brother's HL-1440) ; Compact ; Works as it should

Great printer

Simple printing. It always works. Fast. This is the first printer I have been happy with for over a year.

I am very happy with this printer. I have used it for over a year to print hundreds of pages. Have not had to replace toner yet

Great printer for the price

For those complaining about toner, it doesn't come with a full cart. Neither do any other brands, so good luck finding something better for fifty bucks.

I've bought a couple of dozen of these over the last year for business desktops and they're great. No failures yet

A replacement drum costs as much as the printer, so it's disposable at that point. Can't complain though since the printer is so cheap. It comes with a "starter" toner cartridge, so buy a full one when you buy the printer

Okay printer, at the right price

Recent attempt to remove toner cartridge resulted in jam that could not be resolved without bits of plastic flying off and eventually the total destruction of the printer. There are no truly "satisfactory printer solutions" at less than $200, so plan...

Easy installation, even in Vista ; Reasonably good print quality ; High speed output

High noise factor ; Lights flicker when this printer goes on power cycle ; Mostly plastic construction means limited life cycle

Bad printer, even worse service

Never buy stuff from Brother!

It prints

I owned this print just a week, printed about 20 pages text-based documents, then I got a signal of toner life end. I called brother customer service, the representative said the only thing I can do just buy myself a new toner cartridge, and they can't...

Brother HL-2140

Nothing but good comments. Printer arrived very quickly, easy to set up, print quality is excellent, very short warm up period to start printing. One slight problem was that the label needed for the rebate was covered over by a shipping label. I called...

Excellent Little Laser

Don't use the DVD very often and don't watch movies with it so I didn't need anything fancy. IDE connection is fine- I didn't want to use up one of my SATA connections since I have a lot of HDs. Does the job and doesn't cost much.

Easy Installation ; Good Print Quality ; Very Quiet Operation ; Good Spped ; Attractive

No auto duplex ; Wish it was color

Great little lazer printer

This puppy is the fastest economical lazer printer I have found, so far I like it (we won't get married any time soon) but I am happy w/ the purchase. Please don't tell the chickens.

Got the thing in short order, NEWEGG you are the One, install was easy, just followed the pictures in the install paper, and it worked!!! Fortunatly, the donky only chewed the box, Shame on you UPS driver! If your'e not gonna feed him at least give em...

This thing is loud and busy when it prints. But I found this is not really a con, I just got up and danced w/it. Problem is by the time I got the rythm down it was done. The chickens hate it

Economical and Professional

Doesn't come with a USB cord which wasn't a problem for me since I have about ten extras lying about. Just make sure that you use a USB 2.0 rated cord.

Got this for under $60 with free shipping from Newegg so the price was more than reasonable. Creates crisp, sharp documents that won't bleed when exposed to water (unlike inkjet prints) a must if using for professional purposes. Included toner...

As I said in the pros, this machine packs a lot of power, which you will notice if your home wiring isn't up to snuff. I have a UPS on my PC and it will click occasionally when there is a power surge or interruption in the circuit. Since I run this...
