Samsung Xpress M2825DW review

Printer makers tend to jam a lot of features into their machines, but for many consumers, sometimes all you want is just a printer that's fast and produces good-looking documents. Color is nice, but it's sacrificial if it means speedy laser quality...

Excellent speed ; Crisp output ; Duplex printing ; A variety of connectivity options

Output capacity is 100 sheets less than the input capacity

Oftentimes, all you want to do is print something that’s fast and looks great. Samsung’s M2825DW isn’t showy, but it’s a workhorse laser printer that does things well.

Samsung Xpress M2825DW

The Samsung Xpress M2825DW monochrome laser can serve nicely as a personal printer, but its natural home is as a shared printer in a micro office.

Small enough to share a desk with. Ample paper capacity. Automatic duplexing. Ethernet. Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi Direct

No additional paper handling options available

One step up in Samsung's line from the Editors' Choice Samsung Xpress M2625D that I recently reviewed, the Samsung Xpress M2825DW ($150 street) delivers essentially the same output quality, paper handling, and speed on our tests. What it primarily adds...

Better than I hoped for.

Before I purchased this, I was reading people talking about paper jamming and I was a little concerned. The instructions state you need to adjust the tray size in the hopper to letter or A4. If you try to shove the paper in the tray the way it ships,...

Fast, quiet, and user friendly. DVD wizard will automatically set the printer on your network for you. So far has been better and more reliable than my HP printer ; Eco Printing is fully customizable to whatever settings you want and some I never...

Concerned that I should have just spent the extra money for a multifunction printer, but this is a speculative concern

Awesome little printer!

I don't print at home very often, so I was tired of walking up to my cheap inkjet printer and finding the ridiculously expensive ink cartridges dried up. On sale for $70 this printer is a steal. Easy Wifi setup, and even Wifi direct printing from my...

Fast printing, decent quality print-outs, small size. Got it On sale for $70

Great printer, horrible software.

I tried printing an envelope from the manual feeder. I discovered that I had to go to settings and force the printer to the manual feeder and force envelope and envelope size, it ignored all software settings for paper. Then the feeder has to be loaded...

It works great for simple prints ; Nice preview mode when it works

Manual feeder cannot load paper/envelope automatically ; Does not correctly switch between tray and manual feed ; Cannot resume or continue print job by changing paper source. Cannot cancel job without restarting printer ; Preview driver crashes...

Very good printer for the price if you don't care about unreliable AirPrint function.

Easy setup on Mac 21.5 inch, running OS X 10. Used USB cable as recommended for setup, had no problem, then went wireless. Printer wakes from sleep and starts printing quickly, within 10 seconds. Print quality is very good, sharp text. Double-sided...

This is an AirPrint capable printer, a great convenience, when it works, with three Apple mobile devices in the house. However, connectivity problems happen way too often: iPad and iPhones can't find AirPrint printer. Usually cycling power to the...

Disappointing from the start

It drops wifi signal constantly and has recently decided not to recognise paper though its tray is full. It will cost more to replace than to repair which is a constant failing with these things. When it worked it was good but I wasted too much time...

Does almost what it says on the tin

It's fast, the print is fine, it connects wirelessly without hassle after a rather too complicated initial set-up, so it's doing almost all I wanted it to do.However - during the set-up it purports to connect to a network I had never heard of, but by...
