Samsung ML-2955DW Review: Cheap Laser Printer, Pricey Toner

The Samsung ML-2955DW monochrome laser printer is notable for its very low street price ($150 as of February 8, 2012) and its full network connectivity, namely USB, ethernet, and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the expensive toner restricts it to low-volume use.

Very low purchase price

Extremely expensive toner

Bargain laser printers don’t get much cheaper than this model, but watch the pricey toner--the cost is tolerable only if you print fairly little.

The Samsung ML-2955DW mono laser printer is notable for its very low street price of £90 and its full network connectivity, namely USB, ethernet, and Wi-Fi – REVISED 20 JUNE 2012

The Samsung ML-2955DW is priced to fit the budget of small or home offices--at least initially. The toner costs over time will be dear. If you plan to print more than a few dozen pages per week, move up a hundred pounds or so in purchase price to buy a...

Samsung ML-2955DW review

The Samsung ML-2955DW is small, easy to use and produces good quality output. However, its running costs are quite high, so if you make heavy use of your printer you'd be better off stepping up to Samsung's ML-3710ND, which is slightly more expensive...

Great print quality ; Petite dimensions ; Easy to set up and use

Not the fastest ; Print costs are quite high

There's a lot to like about the ML-2955DW. It's easy to set up and use, it produces good quality print-outs and its small size will be welcomed by those with cramped home offices.

Samsung ML-2955DW review

With grey exterior, Samsung's ML-2955DW couldn't look more functional, but it's the features that count. Its 28 pages-per-minute (ppm) top speed is fairly rapid, and it comes with USB, wired Ethernet and 802.11n wireless interfaces. It's a reasonable...

A competent mono laser with high print quality, but heavy users should seek out a model with lower running costs

Samsung ML-2955DW

The Samsung ML-2955DW is a well-designed duplex laser printer, with good speed and easy wireless printing from mobile devices.

Wi-Fi Direct print ; Eco print button ; WPS single button setup

No second paper tray option ; Job cancel not immediate ; Toner save mode, not fast draft

Samsung ML-2955DW

This next product arrived with a two-pin power lead which was hardly the best start. Fortunately I was able to work round this problem.

The Samsung ML-2955DW is a mono laser printer. The “D” and “W” designation part of its title refers to its Duplex and Wi-Fi capability. This mono laser gives the user a choice of Ethernet, USB or Wi-Fi connectivity with you providing any leads (other...
