Samsung ML-2955DW Review: Cheap Laser Printer, Pricey Toner

The Samsung ML-2955DW monochrome laser printer is notable for its very low street price ($150 as of February 8, 2012) and its full network connectivity, namely USB, ethernet, and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the expensive toner restricts it to low-volume use.

Very low purchase price

Extremely expensive toner

Bargain laser printers don’t get much cheaper than this model, but watch the pricey toner--the cost is tolerable only if you print fairly little.

Nice for the price

I purchased this to be able to print directly from my Samsung tablet. Setting it up on my network was relatively easy following the directions included with the printer. Truly can save money with eco mode (prints two pages side-by-side), toner-saving...

Should be Recalled

This printer should be recalled.

It prints. The print quality is fine

If anything is plugged into the same household circuit as this printer it will get damaged. My lamp lights flicker when printing. My computer power supply was damaged and had to be replaced. I purchased a UPS to connect my computer to. Everytime I hit...

Waste of money

I would recommend getting something else. Find something with several decent reviews. I had horrible luck with this one. I tossed it out as it was not worth the cost to repair.

Setup was simple enough. No issues

The device jammed EVERY piece of paper used. I tried multiple brands and quality (and recommended) and it never stopped

no complaints

Other than toner cost which is a problem with any printer I have NO complaints.

Works fine on my Linux network

toner is expensive...hence 4 eggs

Jams out of box Unusable

I didn't get a chance to open this right away due to sickness. So no NewEgg responsibility. I'm not spending money to send it in for "repair". I've had a bunch of lasers before, could have used this as USB, Wired, or wireless. What could go wrong?...

None, went directly into Trash. Bye $xx ; Jams, Jams, Jams

Useless out of box, JUNK, going into the trash ; Not buying Samsung anymore, this was a workgroup product. Maybe that is why model numbers change so rapidly ; 1. Can't print because paper jams immediately, the tray not large enough for paper to lay...

A very inconvenient convenience!

I had this idealistic vision of the convenience of being in any room with my laptop, or even the backyard, and kicking off printouts on my wonderful Samsung WIRELESS printer. It is indeed convenient, when it is working. But the problem is that the...
