Sony DPP-FP90

The DPP-FP90 can be connected to a Windows (2000, XP or Vista) PC and used like any other photo printer with most any photo or graphic application. The printer does not support the Macintosh

Prints are made in about 45 seconds and are sealed with the Protective SuperCoat 2 laminate, resulting in the durability required to withstand UV fading, spills, moisture and fingerprints. The Sony dye sublimation method can print 256 shades for each...

Sony Picture Station DPP-FP90

This pint-size device delivers vibrant, waterproof prints in a flash--and boasts a huge display--but those photos don't come cheap.

Attractive, compact design • Easy setup • Excellent remote sharing capabilities • USB port for additional storage

Relatively slow transfer performance • Mapped drives take longer to appear in My Computer • Requires replacement drives direct from Western Digital • Remote desktop and webcam access cost extra

Sony Picture Station DPP-FP90

Sony has a history of designing small-format dedicated photo printers that are strong on output quality and speed, but stumble on other issues. These have ranged from the cost per photo in early models to the limited number of memory card formats that...

Fast. High-quality photos. Large LCD for previewing before printing. Low cost per photo for thermal dye

Needs optional adapters for some memory card formats. Photo lifetime is not rated

The small-format Sony Picture Station DPP-FP90 keeps all the good features from Sony's earlier 4-by-6 dedicated photo printers and adds some important new tricks of its own.

Sony DPP-FP90 Picture Station Printer Review

This unusually small snapshot printer features a big 3.6-inch LCD and easy setup. The dye-sublimation print engine provides smooth gradations, but photos were soft, with less-than-accurate colors.

Small, lightweight; large LCD; competitively priced prints; quick setup; fun effects

Photos were consistently soft; colors sometimes off; fun effects have limited settings; no battery option; limited to 4x6 prints

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

Sony DPP-FP90

The Sony PictureStation DPP-FP90 is a $199 compact photo printer that can produce up to 4x6-inch prints, but proves to be a mixed bag. Although the printer itself is small and compact, the prints it produced were rather unappealing, with flat,...

Sony DPP-FP90

Read a review of the Sony PictureStation DPP-FP90, the latest addition to Sony's small but growing compact photo printer line.

The Sony FP90 is very similar in design to the Canon Selphy line of compact photo printers, but the FP90 has two advantages over the Selphy line—a much better LCD screen and a carrying handle. However, prints made with the FP90 were a bit flat and...

LOVE the printer

I bought the FP90 printer at Circuit City about a year ago and I LOVE it. The pictures come out beautiful. The printer offers a lot of features that I may not have calendar options to make each picture a mini calendar but the quality is ...

Easy, fast, superb quality, portable, prints are waterproof and fingerprint proof

expensive, pricey paper, Reds can be oversaturated, paper cannot be conveniently purchased just anywhere

Sony DPP-FP90 review

Sony's dye-sub DPP-FP90 is similar to the cheaper DPP-FP70, with one notable exception: this has a larger screen, measuring 3.6in, compared to the DPP-FP70's 2.5in display.

It's not value for money, but for a printer that's easy to operate and tote around, the Sony DPP-FP90 is certainly worth a look.
