Epson Stylus NX420 Review - PCWorld

The Epson Stylus NX420 color inkjet multifunction (print/copy/scan) provides good output, decent performance, and wireless connectivity for just $100 (as of November 1, 2010). Since its ongoing ink costs are high, however, it's not exactly a bargain,...

Low purchase price

Pricey inks

Wireless connectivity, good-quality output, and scan features highlight this bargain color inkjet multifunction, but ink costs are high.

Review: Epson Stylus NX420 multifunction printer

The Epson Stylus NX420 color inkjet multifunction provides good output, decent performance, and wireless connectivity.

The Stylus NX420 sits squarely in the home and student user category. Paper handling consists of a low-capacity 100-sheet vertical rear paper feed and a simple, letter/A4-size flatbed scanner. The MFP lacks an automatic document feeder for scanning or...

Epson Stylus NX420

The Epson Stylus NX420 is a solid and affordable all-in-one printer option that produces quality prints, although its printing speeds are about average. It lacks a fax option, although that may not be a factor for some users.

The Epson Stylus is an affordable all-in-one printer that can get just about any job done

Its printing speeds are average, and the resulting quality is a little mixed. It also lacks a fax option

The Epson Stylus NX420 is a solid and budget-friendly all-in-one printer option.

Don't waste your money, and don't spend it with Epson

Do yourself a favor...spend a little more money on a printer manufactured by a company that produces good products and cares about its customers, and on one that does not consume ink like crazy.

Cheap (but not the ink.)

1) Devours color ink, even if you're only printing in black. 2) The term "customer service" (CS) is at best questionable at Epson -- when I complained about the amount of color ink it uses, CS finally, after 45 minutes of wasted air time, agreed to send m

This is a great printer. It scans and copies, and does it all wirelessly! I have a Mac so the wireless connection couldn't be set up online. But customer service was knowledgeable and patient :) so the process went smoothly. I have an HP printer...

Great Printer for the price

This is a good little printer but the cartridges are expensive. I pay about 20.00 more for the cartridges than I did for my other printer cartridges but maybe it's worth it because I'm getting good quality photos even on plain paper which I didn't with...

Good Picture quality. Good tonal range

Ink is expensive so I can't print much

Don't get this printer if you print pictures at all.

Ok for scanning and printing documents. Not at all good for printing pictures.

Price, wireless

Printing quailty when printing pictures is bad. Colors come out wrong. Not even close to the quailty of the HP printer it replaced. Doesn't like to pick up matte paper

Great Printer

For the price I was just expecting to use this between more flashy, higher cost models but the quality is so good this might just be my everyday computer till it breaks down. :)

Easy to set up and use. Good quality on the prints, I have not tried scanning yet

It is fairly loud but really not a dealbreaker

You'll pay $$$$$$ for ink

I replaced the color cartridges twice in a year, even though I don't print in color. It consumes ink just turning it on. To make it worse, the printer will NOT print, not even in black & white, when the color cartriges run dry. I have to keep buying...

Prints and scans well enough

Uses a ton of ink just to turn it on
