Epson Stylus NX430 Small-in-One All-in-One Printer review

Released in time for the back-to-school season, Epson squeezes a printer, scanner, and copy machine into a small device it's calling the "small-in-one." The Stylus NX430 occupies roughly the same amount of desk space as your average Blu-ray player, and...

The Epson NX430 stuffs a printer, scanner, and copy machine into a device that also fits in small places, and Epson's iPrint software extends your printing reach to compatible Android and iOS devices.

The printer lacks an Ethernet port for wired networking, and its "moderate-capacity" cartridge bay is a money sink if you print a high volume of photos and color documents.

The Epson NX430 "Small-in-One" printer is a solid investment for students and office jockeys who print high-quality photos and documents but don't have the space for a large format device.

"USELESS!"

Unbelievably terrible machine. Hands down worst thing about this machine is it inability to FINISH a damn job! The only way I feel safe printing endless pages of lecture notes is by using the print preview feature. At least this way, when (not if), it...

ebay cartridges are cheap

Useless for photos Useless for students

Inexpensive, but falls well short of expectations.

This printer has some cool features, but they are not worth the annoyances of bad design and engineering. The most annoying, crooked printing, never had a printer that was so touchy about how the paper sat in the feeder. This printer works, but not well.

Easy to set up and it has a small fooprint. The ink is expesive, but it doesn't go through it all that fast.

Slow, painfully slow, especially when making copies. When settings are changed to speed it up for B&W copies, it prints them blue and pink. If you do not put the paper in the feeder just right it prints crooked. Settings are difficult to access.

Fail after 6 month of used

This color printer made very bad color print and consume a lot of ink. Be ready to spend a lot of money for ink cartage for not so nice color print output. It also stop working properly after 6 month of use. I do not recommend this printer to anyone.

Cheap price, multi function, small foot print.

Cheaply made, does nothing well, not reliable.

"Not Perfect But Easy"

We are in production and we have to move offices quite a bit. This printer is the right size and handles the workload that we put it under.

Easy to set up and change the ink cartridges and move from location to location

Burns through ink quickly and sometimes needs to be started twice.

Cheap, but not worth the money

I use an Epson Artisan 810 and an 837. Both are wonderful. The NX430 is one of Epson's rather rare disasters and should be avoided like the plague. I used mine for only 2 days and junked it.

small footprint.

Very noisy; very, very expensive ink-user. Very slow.

Cannot beat it for the price.

If you are not expecting the best photo quality, and need a small do-it-all, you will hard pressed to find a better printer even close to this price. I bought this printer in September, 2012. Small footprint, It easily does everything it is supposed...

Clean, sharp prints and copies, easy scans with 4 adjustable modes, very easy setup. Bought it 5 months ago and still have not needed to replace an ink cartridge.

Paper capacity could be bigger, but than that is the price you pay for the size. Manual does not explain how to p0rint envelopes, I had to call email support to get instructions.

"Definitely Not Worth It."

I really liked everything about this printer, but I finally pulled the plug on it because of one issue: the outrageous ink costs involved. If you have a way to get free ink, go for it. Otherwise, DO NOT even consider this machine. Sometimes I would...

1. Great form

1. Buying and buying and buying ink will bankrupt you
