Epson WorkForce 840 All-in-One Printer

Generous 500-page paper capacity ; Fast at default settings on plain paper ; Inexpensive inks

No control-panel-to-Mac scanning via WiFi

There's no skimping on this small-office model, which offers speed and paper capacity to spare, plus sharp output and affordable inks.

Epson WorkForce 840 All-in-One Printer

Editors' note: As of October 2011, the product reviewed here has been replaced by the Epson WorkForce 845 .

The Epson WorkForce 840 produces outstanding print quality in record time and offers an abundance of workhorse features, including autoduplexing, wireless networking, support for mobile printing, and easy setup for both USB and network connections.

Minor annoyances include slow photo print speeds and the omission of USB and Ethernet cables.

The Epson WorkForce 840 costs a bit more than the average all-in-one inkjet, but its strong performance and long list of features more than justify its price and CNET's Editors' Choice Award.

Review: Epson WorkForce 840 multifunction printer

There's no skimping on this small-office MFP, which offers speed and paper capacity to spare, plus sharp output and affordable inks.

You can connect the WorkForce 840 via USB, ethernet, or Wi-Fi, and the machine is easy to install. Note that if you opt for "first time" setup, you'll have to wade through a lot of dialog boxes that step you through unpacking, removing tape, hooking up...

Read Epson WorkForce 840 All-in-One Printer

Ok, I get it – those of us with corporate environments enjoy the use of professional multifunction devices at the office.  Whether it's scanning that article out of the newspaper, printing your tax forms, or long edge binding that screenplay you've...

Everything a home office user would demand the Epson WorkForce 840 to do on a daily basis, it does well.  The slow scan/print for highest quality settings may be a deterrent for those with intense photo needs, but this shouldn't scare away most people.

"Excellent, fast, easy to use multi-function device."

Just a great printer overall, get one before they are gone or replaced with newer model.

I have nothing but glowing reviews for this all in one device. It is very fast in printing for an ink-jet. I have tested it out on almost every level and only had to read the manual once to enable receiving a fax (have to push a button to activate). I rec

There is no multi-purpose tray to feed simple envelopes. Have to open a tray to place envelopes.

"Good investment"

No regrets for the choice but the WiFi connectivity is unreliable with Win 7 laptop that has to reconnect every day when returning to office; Would be great for one time connection; when it prints wireless I still can't get it to scan wirelessly. Could...

Fast as promised; good quality output; quality structure

Scanner is very hard to use re. connectivity and software

"TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE"

I recommend that you don't purchase an EPSON. When it worked it worked great but it is not worth the risk. You will have to reload all networked computers and set up all new IP address' and it's just not worth the hassle.

When it works it works well.

Installed per instructions and found out that it does not support windows 7. Had to uninstall the software and download a newer version with technical support. At this point I should have known better and returned the product... Finally get everything
