Update for no Audio

The problem with the audio for me an I'm sure many others is a default setting in the HD VDECK app that installs with the audio driver. By default there's a setting that's set to deactivate all other audio ports if headphones are detected, but for some...

Lack of north-bus frequincy control in bios. Placement of sata ports

nice, basic board for AM3 processors

Catch it on sale with a rebate like I did and it's an awesome board. Watch out for blocked SATA ports if you have more than 3 items to connect.

Simple, straightforward setup - ACC is possible (set HT to 1600 and turn on ACC) but I wouldn't expect much since the board has a limit of 95w TDW. ACC has a good amount of flexibility +/-12

Longish video cards will cover up 3 of the 6 SATA ports - but you have to allow for the fact it is a mATX. ECS could have done a better job on the front panel pin layout - read the manual and pay attention to the orientation. PWM only on cpu fan - no...

Absolutely Awesome for the Price

If you're on a budget, this is an awesome board.

This thing is awesome, got it for $27 after rebates and am totally pleased. Unlocked my single core Sempron to a Dual core with no issues, a lot of expand-ability with 6 SATA ports and an IDE port for older components. Onboard video is decent enough...

None really, BIOS screen in a little different than what I'm used to, but this is my first ECS board, usually work with ASUS and Biostar. Not really a con

Good board for the money

Buy when rebated/sale but read the reviews and know what specs you're getting. This went into another HTPC I built Used a spare Sempron 140 CPU I had and this board also unlocked to X2 plus OC'd to 3200. Rosewill Micro case Adata 2 x 2GB DDR1333...

Easy install. No set up issues. Have several ECS boards over last few years. All going strong

None so far

Good basic AM3 mobo

Combined this board with a Sempron 140, cheapo HS/fan, and 8G of Corsair ram. Got a decent bare bones dual core 3.25Ghz computer for $75 (after mobo and memory rebates, and yes, I got both rebates). I used a hard drive I already had, I'll wait for HDD...

Good price, straightforward installation. SB710, so core unlocking is available

No HDMI output

Nice, basic end-of-life board

I find it amusing when someone lists their tech knowledge as high yet can't see from the picture of the motherboard that there are only 2 RAM slots, not 4 and didn't even bother to read the specs. Most "techs" with actual high knowledge would also know...

Inexpensive, very basic, and not complicated. I'll never forget the K7S5A's that made me an ECS lover. :)

I wish it had a core unlock feature and the extra fan header as someone else had suggested. Also, I learned with this board that if you disable IDE in the BIOS, SATA1 and 2 are disabled; who knew? As always I have to knock the ECS website for always...

Basic board

This is a basic motherboard for simple builds. This should not be used for overclocking anything more than what stock volts will allow. Even though it has heatsinks on the VRM's is is still a 3+1 design that is know to be prone to failure. I used this...

Inexpensive basic budget board (even better after the rebate) ; Heatsinked VRM's ; Nice color (my board was black and grey, not the green/orange/white thing in the pic) ; Has Core unlocking capabilities (I did not try though, I'm using a 95w x4) ; Lots...

None for what it is ; Yes it only has 2 RAM slots, yes, it is limited to a 95w CPU, no it does not have HDMI, but that is all listed in the specs ; Nothing to take any eggs off for

Audio Does Not Work

Cheap

Like previous review, Audio problems. Rear Audio does not work. Used on Windows XP Pro. Windows Media Center Opens with errors related to Audio problems, and then must close. Not sure why there is HDMI audio in Bios when there is no HDMI built into...

bad luck or bad product

not recommend even it is cheap.

cheap after the rebate

I just bought a new ecs a880gm-m7 from newegg.com ; currently I have below problem ; 1. on board sound card doesn't work well, no sound is from back panel, when I connect speaker to front panel, the sound is not continuous, it is broken every few...

It is what I thought it was

Board is what I thought it was. Nice, simple workstation board. I get so tired of people downrating things on Newegg because it didn't have some feature they wanted but it was cleared listed what it DID have. READ!! It completely met the expectations I...

Bought this board to revamp my wives aging PC that only supported DDR2 memory. As others here I bought it on sale with a rebate. For the price I paid I wish I'd bought a second one to throw in my spare standby parts. Board has just about anything you...

About the only con I'll throw out there is that there are only 2 memory slots. However, I'll take no eggs away for that, can't blame a car for only having 2 javascript:Biz.Feedback.RateProduct.Form.submit('display')doors when I bought a 2 door car right
