WHEN Core i7 975 was launched, it received rave reviews for its overclocking abilities on simple air cooling. Up to 4GHz is a given for pretty much every CPU and some can go even higher
But up is not the only way. If you stick with the default speed - still a pretty fast 3.33GHz - you can wind down the voltage and save a lot of power
If board doesn't post, go exchange it. Don't bother experimenting with it. I spent 7 hours trying to swap out components to stop the repeat boot problem. Finally decided it is a board issue and exchanged the board. New board worked perfectly.
Good Board for the Price Range ;
Only has slots for 1 single Triple Channel Memory set, with 4gigs x3 i7 Memory kits non-existent you will be limited to 6 gigs of memory ; Hit or Miss, my first board is DoA, but the 2nd Board worked flawlessly ;
Seems like a very problematic show stopper. Would suggest with the new release of Windows 7 and the i7 processor that a lot of people will buy them, suggest NEWEGG STOP the sale of this Motherboard due to a high number of complaints and RMA's to be expect...
