as it stands Dec. 2014

If you have one you're using, keep it because the 4690K isn't much of an upgrade = waste of money. If you're building a new system, go with socket 1150 simply due to current cost and availability of quality mobos. I docked 2 eggs simply due to...

Great cpu. Runs surprisingly cool - according to the mobo utility. Never goes over 53 C. Usually high 40s in 3d gaming. Idles high 20s with cooler such as Black Knight. It has no performance flaws and is faster in games than ANY current consumer grade...

Try finding a nice socket 1155 mobo -especially mATX. They are all over-priced. The availability is going away. You can find some on eBai but that is risky business. Basically it's obsolete. It's been made that way by Intel due to their new CPUs not...

No Complaints

This was used in a machine for my Dad that I haven't used much. However, he hasn't complained, so that's a good thing. It was probably overkill for the particular machine, though, so I don't know that it's been used for anything that would test it.

Low power, super quick, and the fan is quiet enough

It was expensive

Great CPU!

The chip can run at a high temperature and still be in the safe zone, but wouldn't recommend using the stock fan. I would spend a little extra to keep your CPU cooler, on a aftermarket cooler.

Great CPU, does everything and more that I ask of it. Gaming video editing, photo shop, streaming, its all good. Has headroom to O.C. if you need more power

Stock fan sucks, used it for 2 days. Sounded like a jet engine, and temps where really high. Went for a all in one WC. Soo boss now

After the first few hours

I'm very happy with this CPU, already I have played games on maxed out settings (GTX760 GFX CARD) along with this CPU. I also noticed a considerable amount of speed during boot up and use of applications such as Photoshop, Steam etc.

Is this even my computer still???... It's very FAST. Improved my gaming and application use TENFOLD

This post is only after a few hours use so does not have issues right now

Favorite processor I've ever owned

This processor is a great processor for 90 percent of users. I bought a K model to overclock it when it gets a bit older to extend the usable life of the chip. Have ran some light 4.0ghz OC's on it but didnt notice enough of a differance(my system is...

Great, powerful processor with lots of overclocking headroom to extend useable life ; I feel it's a great cost/performance ratio(although probably not the best)

no hyperthreading(not that 90% of users will notice/need hyperthreading) ; poor thermal conductivity requires some risky surgery to replace the TIM compound underneath the heat spreader to achieve maximum temperature performance ; Onboard graphics-see...

Very good CPU

This replaced an AMD FX-4100 processor and completely blows it away in gaming performance.

Very fast and overclocks well

Intel i5 processor

Excellent CPU if you don't need HT.

Powerful, great for overclocking, reliable, I've had no trouble with this processor since I've owned it. (almost a year)

A wee bit pricey, however you do get what you pay for

After 2 years, it still works great

Just overclocked to 4.4ghz and working flawlessly ; Running around 38 degrees celcius with air cooling heatsink ; Worth the money

Excellent Gaming CPU!

Mine was running at 4.7GHZ stable using NZXT Kraken x60 @1.265v

Fast ; Enough for any gaming PC ; Mine was a good overclocker

Runs a little hotter than other Intel CPUs
