Review Acer H6510BD Full HD Projector

An inexpensive 3D projector. A compact 1080p DLP projector for office or home cinema starting at 750 Euros (~$960)! Sounds almost too good to be true, doesn?t it. Our review reveals any drawbacks in this deal. ... read 06/29/2013 78%Review Acer...

Overall, the Acer H6510BD is a nice device and is excellent value for money at a retail price of only 750 Euros (~$960)

Acer H6510BD Projector

For those who don't see or don't mind rainbow artifacts, the Acer H6510BD Projector is a potential bargain, with 1080p resolution and full 3D support.

Inexpensive. Native 1080p resolution. Full 3D support for video sources like Blu-ray players and FiOS or cable boxes

Potentially annoying rainbow artifacts. Underpowered audio

The Acer H6510BD Projector is a big step up from the Acer H6500 that it replaces in Acer's line (although the H6500 is still available from various Web sites at this writing). Both offer full HD resolution, at a native 1080p, but the H6510BD is...

Acer H6510BD

The Acer H6510BD projector (or H6510 as we will often call it) is a very small, very bright, home entertainment projector. We believe that projectors such as this Acer, are best in your family room on the table (or even ceiling mounted) or maybe in a...

Plenty of brightness - measured a maximum of over 2800 lumens ; Reasonably good color, right out of the box ; Good looking bright lumens with reasonably good color ; Slightly better than average black levels for the price ; Lamp can be changed without...

Lack of savable User memories. The slightest change wipes out your settings ; Remote control is not backlit ; Black levels are pretty entry level ; Lacks CFI for smooth motion (typical for entry level projectors) ; Reasonably noisy. Not exceptionally...

I am impressed with the Acer H6510BD. Being a bit snobby about black level performance, and also accurate color, I'm always looking down my nose at entry level and near entry level home projectors. They just aren't for me, and don't get me all that...

Acer H6510BD projector review

Despite costing just £500, Acer's H6510BD is surprisingly pretty with its angular, minimalist lines and gloss-white finish. Its connections match those of many more expensive PJs too, with HDMI, D-Sub PC, VGA and USB offered.

!>!LOUD!<! or Mine's Defective?

The mounting hole is very oddly off the center of gravity, but my existing mount still worked. I bought 3D glasses and wasn't impressed, but I've never tried 3D at home on another projector either.

Very nice picture. Incredible improvement in my dedicated theater over it's predecessor 720p InFocus projector. We haven't noticed or been bothered by the rainbow effect potential

LOUD! I thought my old projector was loud, but it's right over our heads and this one is very distracting. Maybe we got a lemon??? I need to contact tech support ; Unfortunately I bought it and immediately had a few weeks of business trips, so I didn't...

WOW

Unless you're looking for 4K image quality this projector will be hard to beat. I do not use the speakers on the projector, but for the short time I did use them during the test of the system they were pretty basic. It sounds about like the speakers...

In my opinion you will have a hard time beating the image quality of this projector without going well over $1000. I project on a base level screen and the image is as clear as my 46" HD TV in my living room

Quality piece of electronics

I highly recommend the service plan if you are going to be getting heavy use out of this thing. We have ours playing 10 hours/day during the weekend so all the room mates can watch sports and in less than a year I have almost used half my estimated...

High quality picture ; Easy setup ; Great for gaming! (I cannot stress this enough as it was the reason I bought this projector over others. The clarity and focus is off the charts. The response time is not noticeable at all.) ; Multiple picture...

Takes about 10 second to change channels because the projector has to process the image. Sometimes this does not happen. Seems to only happen when shows are not during commercial break although I definitely cannot confirm this ; Sometimes I have...

Awesome

Bright screen even at 50% brightness setting. Very clear and sharp at 17 feet which makes for a 10'x6' screen. A major upgrade from the last version of this Acer projector H6510BD. Runs much cooler than previous model

I'd like it to be able to change the size of the screen at even 17 feet away. Previous model allowed this
