It doesn't look much of a bargain, though. Its boring rectangular shape, uninspiring colour scheme and plasticky finish do little to explain why this projector should once have cost over £1,500.
It runs quietly, produces believable colours, and pictures are extremely clean and 'pure'
Hard to convincingly balance brightness and contrast

The IN80 really is exceptionally well specified for its money. For instance, its reassuringly large, curvaceous body can be mounted onto a supplied tilting, rotating foot arrangement that helps you get its pictures correctly positioned on your screen. ...
Outstanding picture quality for the money, full HD Resolution, good feature count
It runs slightly noisily, and there are traces of the rainbow effect from time to time.

And very niftily integrated this DVD player is, too, forming as it does a base upon which the whole upper projector section can rotate to potentially assist people with getting their pictures positioned correctly on their screens.
Two products in one reasonably attractive box, solid connectivity, DVD playback decent
The whole concept is flawed, the picture quality is poor, and actually even the price seems too steep for something with such immensely casual ambitions

Perhaps inevitably the W500 rather looks its money, with a slightly plasticky finish around an uninspiringly 'officey' design. It just about covers the essential connections though, thanks to its inclusion of a single HDMI, a component video input and ...
Crazily cheap, good sharpness and motion handling, and impressive brightness
The chicken wire effect, very average black levels, some odd colour tones

It's got all the connections most budget users will need too, including one v1.2 HDMI and one DVI input (with supplied HDMI adaptor), as well as USB, RS-232, remote control and 12V trigger ports reflecting the fact that it's commonly distributed as a ...
Attractively designed, great value, mostly good picture quality
Small traces of DLP artefacting, lack of shadow detail, one or two suspect colours

Things look up with its connections, though, thanks to two HDMI inputs - both compatible with the Deep Colour format.
Great price, usable in reasonable amount of ambient light, rich colours, good HD sharpness
Black levels rather flat and grey versus the DLP rivals today

For instance, it boasts two digital video inputs, both compatible with the latest v1.3 HDMI standard for playback of the latest Deep Color format. Plus its native contrast ratio is reckoned to be an impressive 7500:1, and perhaps most remarkable of ...
Amazing value, great performer, nicely designed, good connectivity
It runs a touch noisily, the rainbow effect, a shorter-throw lens would have been a good idea

Inevitably for such an astonishingly cheap device, the H5350 is not a full HD projector. But it is still HD Ready, with a pixel count of 1280x720 using film-friendly DLP technology.
Cheap as chips, small footprint, very bright pictures
Rainbow effect, lack of detail in dark areas, some odd colours, HDMI not v1.3

The PT-AE2000E actually replaces the company's previous PT-AE1000E, deemed by many to be a class-leading projector. But, while the price and the Full HD specification haven't changed, there have been considerable enhancements elsewhere including 16 ...
Improved specification, enhanced connectivity, easy to use, bright, colourful and solidly defined images
Dated design, slow movement occasionally staggers

That said, there are a couple of cutbacks elsewhere. The smooth, sloping design is eye-catching but a closer inspection reveals only average build quality. And, without any form of vertical lens shift, it's difficult to align the image from a coffee ...
Competitively priced, advanced features and connectivity, quiet operation, superb black levels and contrast
Average build quality, fiddly set up, lacks super fine detail
