Great Entry 1080P Bright HT Projector

When I tested movies like Avatar, Star Wars, and the classic fifth element I was able to see the projector display some brilliant contrasts and imagery that is generally difficult to see on most entry level projectors. Also the perception of picture...

Brightest out of entry level, great colors, dark blacks, great contrast, 1.5x zoom, decent onboard speakers, PIP

Does not have lens shift, more bulb hours would be nice

BenQ W1100 A great bang for the buck 1080P Projector

1080P, fast color wheel so no/minimal RBE, great look

Not quite as smooth as it's bigger brother, menus are quirky

BenQ W1100 DLP Projector

BenQ's W1100 projector delivers large scale, vibrant images without obvious compromise, and its a full HD flag-waver for AV in our straitened times. Despite the budget price tag, this model is undeniably cute.

HARDWARE REVIEW; BenQ W1100

Rich, cinematic images; little DLP Rainbow colour fringing, extensive parameter control

Low motion resolution; fan noise; no vertical lens shift

For a full HD projector, the W1100 is an unqualified steal. I love the Lasik sharpness of its images and the striking colour fidelity. This model definitely punches above its weight. Budget home cinema builders have never had it so good.

BenQ W1100

BenQ's W1100 offers some startling specs for its money, and is a great option for people who can't black out their rooms. More serious users may do better elsewhere, though.

Great price for the spec on offer ; High brightness makes it usable in ambient light ; Plenty of calibration tools

Images are a touch noisy ; slightly washed out black levels ; Predictably there's no optical image shift

If the W1100 had arrived before we'd spent so much quality time with its W1200 brother and the InFocus SP8600, we might well have loved it. Certainly its ability to deliver punchy pictures even in rooms with a degree of ambient light in them deserves...

Review: BenQ W1100 DLP Projector

Devours oversized flatscreen TVs for breakfast.

Excellent picture quality; Great colour accuracy once calibrated; Performs well despite ambient light; Handles motion well; Well suited for video games; Comprehensive connectivity options; Lightweight

Average black levels; Default colour calibration is off; High power consumption; Tacky remote controller
