Can this LCD projector hold its own in a fiercely competitive, full HD arena?

On paper, Epson has put together a fearsome proposition in the EMP-TW1000. But we're sad to say that some pretty fundamental problems, especially in the black level department, mean that it doesn't even get close to delivering on its apparent potential.

epson emp-tw1000 review: It may lack luxury functions, extended connectivity and the inky blacks of pricier models, but this is well offset by beautiful HD pictures, extended lens shift and ultra-short throw capabilities.

Slightly soft standard-definition pictures, Manual lens adjustments, Single HDMI

There really is nothing like a big screen to gaze on to really get that whole cinema experience. As far as I'm concerned, LCD's and Plasma TV's can be damned unless they're showing me a picture as big as a projector can.

Already known for its burgeoning line-up of beamers, in the growing community of 1080p front projectors Epson is a new kid on the block. Epson may be fresh faced, but it has also come up with one of the cheapest of all the Full HD models out there
