Mitsubishi HC4000 DLP Projector

A front-projection system is usually the display of choice for serious home-theater enthusiasts. But such systems are more expensive than most flat panels and rear-projection TVs, especially when you consider the cost of a good screen. So finding a...

Mitsubishi HC4000 DLP Projector

In my quest to find such a projector, I spent some time with the Mitsubishi HC4000, and I was impressed. It isn't the last word in front projection, but it offers surprisingly good performance for under $1,500.

Mitsubishi HC4000

We received a pre-production version, which allowed us to post this review in time for the CEDIA show, although the HC4000 did not become available to consumers for about an additional month

Related to the zoom lens, is the HC4000's compatibility with using an anamorphic lens, which it does. The HC4000 projector however has two anamorphic modes, the usual, designed to work with the lens for Cinemascope movies, and the second mode, so you...

HC4000

Great projector.

Fantastic picture quality. Good color balance. Super sharp picture. Very bright image. 5000 hour lamp life

1 HDMI, not a problem if you have an AVR. The color wheel will shake the whole projector sometimes, so buy a sturdy mount if you are hanging it. I can see a couple of rainbows from time to time

Average number of hours on bulb?

I was wondering how many hours of usage one of these projectors would typically come with?

Great reviews for this product

Slightly noisy fan. Would be nice if it came with a replacement bulb
