NEC NP100

 

If you need a projector for typical PowerPoint presentations, the NEC Display Solutions NP100 won't break your budget.

Low price. Easy setup. Easy-to-use menus and convenient controls. Reasonably light weight (5.3 pounds).

Relatively obvious rainbow effect, particularly for full-motion video.

NEC NP100 Portable Projector

 

The affordable NEC NP100 portable projector provides bright images for both business and home-entertainment users.

Bright images under normal lighting conditions ; Selectable picture modes for optimized images

No carrying case ; No pointer or mouse control via remote

But even with its minor limitations, the NP100 is a good bargain for a projector capable of displaying bright and attractive images in both office and home environments

Road warriors who want a budget-oriented projector suitable for both business presentations and home theater will find the NEC NP100 a solid choice. At $499, it's one of the most inexpensive portable models on the market.

Purchased at end of October 2008, and at end of January 2009 has just over 700 hours of use. (Mostly XB0X 360 and DVD Player but some standard Cable TV and PC useage)

Has held up amazingly to an average 8 hours a day, for 3 months straight. Bulb has not faded or dimmed, never over heated, flickered or anything. NO PROBLEMS TO DATE. Gave 5 stars this time because it just looks simply amazing at 70-80" playing 720p...

no serious product flaws that weren't already mentioned in previous review

Very good for the money

 

Composite (RCA) is only Standard definition and not very good quality, SVideo is better, VGA is good (720p). Watched movie trailers from Apple to test out the quality and 720 looked very crisp and clear.

Price of projector, price of replacement lamps (Under $200), ease of setup and use. 720p. Decently bright

Not 1080, but for the price I wouldn't have expected it
