Getting on, but remains a fairly competitive buy
Using Texas Instruments' HD2+ DLP chip, this large projector is well specified. Set-up is easy enough, though levelling the beast out isn't as swift as it could be. Still, the short-throw design means this is a projector suitable for smaller spaces

It's a shame this isn't cheaper: a fine projector if you're prepared to pay a premium for Full HD
Talking of weight, this is a bulky unit. Though, it's what's inside, and the picture it produces, that matter

Appealing in many ways - and could be ideal as an 'occasional-use' coffee-table tool
However, it's not the only projector at this price - at least in 'street' terms - and you can do better for the money. That's why, good as it is, the EMP-TW700 stays at five stars

InFocus had to raise the bar, and it has - superbly. A desirable piece of projection tech that fully justifies the outlay.
The end result is simply stunning. Watching Ratatouille on Blu-ray, sending the 1080p/24fps signal directly, the level of detail and three-dimensionality is staggering - you can pick out individual strands of hair. With Cars this subtlety again helps ...

Still a gorgeous-looking and highly capable HD projector. This fine unit receives six stars, especially at its competitive price.
With DVD and high-def movies, the IN76's blend of stark contrast, high levels of detail, firm grasp of textural subtleties and a rich yet natural colour palette makes for a thoroughly assured performance

The IN78 looks every bit as enticing from the outside, but its performance has slowly been surpassed
Up and running, we're impressed by what we see. Going back to watch test favourite Training Day, this time in Blu-ray format, we're struck by the subtlety of the image before us

This is a fine projector: easy to set-up, quiet enough in operation, and capable of superb performance for its price. It's a must-see.
There are plenty of sockets, while Pixelworks' DNX (Digital Natural Expression) 10-bit processor handles scaling, noise reduction, deinterlacing and more. This is teamed with the latest Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor image processing, a seven ...

Scintillating performance but at a high price. It's this thrilling blend of affordability, flexibility and (above all) capability that makes the IN82 so special. Nothing else we've tested at this price gets close.
Black levels, meanwhile, also impress, with fine insight into the darkest scenes, and there's also plenty of 'snap' to white and bright areas. With Blu-ray, the results are superb, making the Blu-ray of Training Day look as good as it does on many far ...

Not as capable as we'd have expected. You can do better for this money
Howvever, there's bead news: the Epson's picture, while commendably sharp and bright, lacks real-world contrast. Deep blacks are rendered more as murky greys and, even after extensive experimentation and plenty of tweaking, we couldn't get the picture ...

In a group of amazing quality, the JVC still stands out as an astounding performer at a very fair price
So, with no further ado, we spin-up our Blu-ray copy of Ratatouille. The Full HD picture is a real treat for the eyes, offering stunning detail and razor-sharp edges
