Sim2 Domino D80 Review - DLP Projectors

Supports every resolution known to mankind, Excellent picture quality, Quiet operation

Costs the same as a small car, No native DVI port, Only a single HDMI input, Some menu fonts can be tricky to read

Its price point will put it beyond the reach of many, but the D80 projector can be summed up in one simple word. Wow.

If we had to sum up the strengths of this projector in one word, we would have to say that it's natural. Uncompromisingly so. Skin tones, grass, the sky, etc, were utterly and faithfully reproduced by this projector. With high definition content,...

Product Specifications

In true SIM2 style, the D80 projector is synonymous with cutting-edge technology! SIM2's premier D80 projector features Texas Instruments' 0.95" 1080p DLP chipset for a true, uncompressed 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution. The chipset coupled with full 10-bit video processing, SIM2's ALPHA PATH light engine and software, give the D80 projector an extra shine, resulting in a new level of cinematic realism in single chip projection. A combination of SIM2's proprietary light engine and the 7-segment color wheel ensures that the D80 delivers a true contrast ratio and accurate color rendition for a film-like image. And, on-board video processing prevents the introduction of motion artifacts and jagged edges. Also, the D80 features a wide selection of inputs - including HDMI and is compatible with all video and graphic standards. HDMI is a purely digital connection that transmits the uncompressed bit stream directly from the source through to the display.
