Sony VPL-VW11HT LCD projector


The 11HT also includes a selectable mode called Cinema Black, which slightly reduces the light output. It's said to provide better blacks while doubling the life of the projection lamp. I used it for all of my viewing.

Product Specifications

The VPL-VW12HT home theatre projector provides a new processing system that offers high contrast ratio for rich, uniform black levels and enhanced detail in dark colors. Featuring a newly designed Wide XGA LCD panel with Micro Lens Array and Wide View film, the new VPL-VW12HT projector boasts a 1000:1 contrast ratio which makes black level deeper for superior picture quality enjoyment. Utilizing the three-panel LCD projector, the VPL-VW12HT offers Wide XGA (1366 x 768) resolution to produce ultra-fine image detail, high brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens and projects images as large as 300 inches (viewable area measured diagonally). To address the needs of the customer, the VPL-VW12HT incorporates Sony's unique Digital Reality Creation (DRC) technology, which boosts the picture quality of standard television for home cinema sensation. More, the new Cinema Filer color compensation features enhanced skin color fidelity and black level reproduction to produce true-to-life images for home entertainment. The new Image Director software enables a user to connect the projector to a PC by connecting with RS-232C cable to adjust and store the gamma correction setting and balance for ease-of-use. Both 16:9 wide screen format and the standard 4:3 aspect ratio can be enhanced by CineMotion can accept film source and removes flicker to create smooth, authentic movement even for the most challenging action on screen. The compact size and weight makes it ideal for permanent ceiling installations, as well as portable tabletop placement flexibility. A variety of inputs allow for home theater content from popular sources, like HDTV, VHS, standard and progressive DVD, as well as computer inputs.
