Aggressive Inline (PlayStation 2)

More often than not, only one developer is associated with the recent alternative sports boom. But back when all this skateboarding and biking business started in earnest, there were two. Neversoft had teamed up with Activision to deliver Tony Hawk's...

After the insane success of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, a plethora of imitators and wannabes emerged to cash-in on the extreme sports craze. Unfortunately for the consumer, many of these games aren't even worth a second glance. Enter Acclaim on...

Bringing everything together with top pros such as the legendary Chris Edwards (the game was originally named after him, if I’m not mistaken), Shane Yost, Jaren Grob and Sven Boekhorst (the man himself) is icing on the cake (or wax on the...

We've seen plenty of extreme sports games since Tony Hawk's Pro Skater revitalized the genre a few years ago. And while Neversoft's Tony Hawk games have since led the way in new features and graphics over the years since, surely other developers can...

While the soundtrack is a bit disappointing, that's about the worst thing I could find with this game. It's got some hilarious moments, great ways to do lots of tricks, huge levels, and a tight control scheme. There's not much more you could hope for.

Aggressive Inline is an alternative sports game developed by Z-Axis and published by Acclaim. It is basically a refined and enhanced version of everything before it. Imagine Tony Hawk 3 without all the bails and movement restrictions, and you'll be...

Aggressive Inline innovates on the established dynamics that Tony Hawk created and manages to dethrone THPS3 in more than a few areas. The RPG-based experience system, for example, and the ability to land vert-tricks on flat ground straight-up rocks....

Aggressive Inline brings fresh new blood to a genre already packed with talent.

As exciting as biking through NYC without the smog and angry taxi drivers. Plus you get to keep your limbs

Indiscernible characters (specs-wise); overwhelming to newbies; music is blah

Skateboarding's been done, biking's been done, but what about inline skating?

Despite the fact that Z-Axis games are consistently entertaining, each of them has run into a similar problem of being released decidedly unpolished. Sadly, Aggressive Inline is no different. During an ordinary run through a level, expect to find...

Accalim Sports has been hard at work trying to break grounds with the first blading game for the next gen consoles. They did a hell of a job on it too. Who would have thought a blading game could be this much fun!

The game is the first blading game availible in the extreme type market, but the extreme game market has been around and nothing is changing in the games. The game has 8 levels plus a bonus level exclusivly for xbox. This levels are long and hard. You...

The Armchair Empire - Playstation 2 (PS2) Reviews: Aggressive Inline

Inline skating hasn't received the same kind of media attention that other “extreme” sports like skateboarding and BMX have, but Aggressive Inline certainly brings the sport to the forefront of extreme games on the...

Extreme sports, it's all been done. From Tony Hawk to Kelly Slater to Shawn Palmer, extreme sports games seem to be just another "everyday thing." But not Aggressive Inline. It seems inline skating hasn't gotten the respect it deserves. But after...

Also, as the levels progress, you don't begin to see repetition. Which is a good thing. Each level is unique in its own colorful way. Some even hold, "hidden messages." If you've played the game and explored the levels, you'll know what I'm talking...

Aggressive Inline follows the tradition set by the popular Tony Hawk franchise of bringing a popular extreme sport to the consoles. Gameplay revolves around performing tricks in large environments for points or performing certain requirements to unlock...

Large areas; Experience system and Juice Bar add variety to game; Lots to unlock

Occasional glitches; Cars and NPCs look plain/simple

For extreme sports fans, Aggressive Inline is a wonderful addition to your collection. It borrows the basic concepts the Tony Hawk managed to perfect and adds more than enough to carve it's own place in the genre. If you aren't a fan of the genre, this...
