Destroy All Humans! 2 (Xbox)

There's something to be said for irreverent humor in games, but there's less to be said for irreverence just for the sake of irreverence. Destroy All Humans!, last year's action adventure game from developer Pandemic Studios, which stars a snarky,...

Destroy All Humans! shows such enthusiasm for its thematic inspiration that you can't help but at least appreciate what it tries to do.

Another flying saucer full of grey-faced annihilation.

Last year's debut for the series brought some new twists to the sandbox genre, but also restricted players greatly with what they could do both in and out outside of missions. Now, Pandemic has given players more freedom, but still has a lot of work to...

Overall, Destroy All Humans! 2 is a solid, but unmemorable game. The first stood out because it featured a unique premise and sharp humor, this lacks either of those, and ends up feeling like a mere add-on pack to the first instead of its own game....

Destroy All Humans! 2 - xbox

Very rarely do I get to say that a sequel is actually better than the original, but Destroy All Humans! 2 manages to boost just about every level of humor, storytelling, and gameplay up at least a slight notch. Perhaps I can relate more to the 60's...

Mars retreats.

Some cool weapons; Appropriately cheesy audio

Ho-hum graphics; Uninspired missions; Not funny

Humor is one of those tricky things that’s best done right or not at all. In the case of Destroy All Humans 2, the sequel to Pandemic’s novel offering of a year ago, the humor is well done, if by well done you mean butchered and burned to a crisp....

Anal probing. Wasting useless hippies. What else do you need in a game?

Timothy Leary meets Ed Wood in this hippie hate-a-thon

The campy, B-movie premise ; Hilarious dialogue ; Hating on hippies

Tiresome escort and delivery chores ; Lack of freedom in scripted missions ; Not actually destroying all humans

Destroy All Humans! 2

Jimi, Janis, Cryptosporidium-138. THQ and Pandemic Studios send gamers tripping back to the sixties.

Constantly funny dialogue; diverse weaponry; more seamless gameplay than in the original

Graphics are unspectacular; co-op mode feels incomplete; no other multiplay modes

The gameplay also got an upgrade in the way things flow. It's just a lot smoother this time around. In the first game, things felt very formulaic. You'd tackle a level and once you've furthered the story and taken care of your main objective, you could...
