Not as bad as you've heard…

Now as mentioned earlier, Devil May Cry 2 does keep up the quality found in the original, but offers little improvement in many respects. The gameplay is solid and entertaining, the controls are easy to master, and there are a wide variety of moves for...

The devil is not in the details.

Devil May Cry 2 is a major disappointment. The game does come with two discs to play as either Dante or Lucia, but both go through most of the same levels with minor variants. No matter which disc you try you'll be stuck with the same gameplay, and it...

Why is it that every time I hear about a game I have to got out and buy it before trying it out first? I don't know, maybe I'm just a freak and an impulsive buyer. A while back a friend of mine told me to check out Devil May Cry 2, just for the plain...

Devil May Cry 2 - PS2 review at Thunderbolt Games

When a development company creates a game that sells by the bucket-load and is generally loved by everyone who plays it, the process of coming up with a sequel must be an absolute nightmare. Not only do you have to produce something that's more...

Alright, so here I am, giving my fingers their biggest workout since I was at the tender age of 10, when Street Fighter 2 Turbo was in all the rage. Diving, rolling, jumping 30, 40, 50 feet in the air, all the while I'm unloading a plethora of bullets...

wall hike are now accompanied by the wall run and the wall jump. The wall run is where Dante/Lucia run against the wall for about two seconds, Matrix style. The wall jump is where Dante/Lucia run up a wall and then dive all the way down, while...

My sympathies go out to all the fans out there of the Devil May Cry series and the severe pain that must have been felt when this game was played after being so happily purchased from your local game store. This game, while retaining the Devil May Cry...

Lackluster is the word of the day in this surprisingly dissappointing sequel.

Devil May Cry 2

Capcom unexpectedly produces the most disappointing sequel in the history of the PlayStation 2.

Solid controls; improved camera system; nice-looking (if useless) new moves

Short, simple levels with stale visual design; flawed power-up and combat systems; throwaway storyline

Face your demons -- both old and new -- in this follow-up to Capcom's 2001 genre-bending hit. The original Devil May Cry, released just over a year before this sequel, brought fast action and fluid combat to the traditionally slower paced survival-horror

Devil May Cry 2 Review [PS2]

I'm going to cut straight to the chase here and bang on about how good the original Devil May cry was. A year or so ago there was a load of complete and utter rubbish released on the Playstation 2, so much so that I hardly touched the console as......

Dante looks nicer than before with his extra polygons and textures ; You certainly get your moneys worth of levels ; Politically correct addition of a female character ; It’s a solid challenge for beat ‘em up fans ; Dante has his cool grey hair still

All the survival horror elements are gone for good ; The levels get very long and boring ; The aforementioned addition of political correctness ; Not much variety between the two character’s missions ; Awful soundtrack

Good - Dante looks nicer than before with his extra polygons and textures - You certainly get your moneys worth of levels - Politically correct addition of a female character - It’s a solid challenge for beat ‘em up fans - Dante has his cool grey hair...

You might see I dropped it 5%, well, it's been done before and although this is a great game, it's lacking in a few small areas. Still, it's a must get if you loved number 1
