Fifa 09

Fitbah' as they say, is a game of two halves. Virtual games are no exception, the standard halves are those who PES and them that FIFA. Up until the last few years, everything was clearly in PES's favour. But socks have been a-raising recently, and as...

There's no case for the defence on PS2

Easier to pick up than other versions ; Full and complete managerial mode ; More goals

Scoring isn't as exciting ; Leveled out 3 years ago on PS2 ; Could be too arcadey for some

FIFA 09 Review

With over 250 improvements FIFA is odds-on to win the big match this season...

Gameplay has improved immeasurably ; Jostling system sets a new standard ; Highly believable AI

Chaotic 10v10 action ; No crossover between Be A Pro single-player and online ; Players still not quite individual enough

Vast improvements to the action on the pitch and the game in general means that FIFA 09 is certainly PES' equal this year, and we'd be inclined to suggest it makes significant strides beyond Konami's effort in many ways. Time will tell whether it has...

The FIFA franchise has brought the worlds biggest sport to millions of people, from many different countries. EA are back again with FIFA 09, hoping to again get you to hand over your hard earned (in most cases) money.

Perhaps the best FIFA ever ; Fluid movement and physics

Still areas to improve ; in management and Be A Pro

The meat of the game however has had a major overhaul, with EA claiming 250 changes in the gameplay. For once this claim can be visibly seen, with player animations, ball physics and overall game play much, much better then previous titles. The ball...

FIFA 09 (PlayStation 2) - Gameplanet Review

A truly spectacular soccer title with exceptional player animations, ball handling and gameplay to boot. The AI will provide a significant challenge, but the implementation of one of the most advanced and complete online modes will mean that this game...

Management mode. Be a Pro mode. The huge online component. Spectacular animations bring the pitch alive. Highly addictive

Occasional bugs. Graphics a bit blurry and unfocused when the camera pans out. Instruction manual is sorely lacking. Too addictive

A winning formula.

EA has made an effort to improve a series that has been tweaked to death over the past decade, and produced a game that all FIFA fans will be pleased with.

Some decent changes to core gameplay ; Plays a good game of football

No online play ; PS2's showing its age

There's no question that FIFA on PS2 is starting to show its age. It looks good for a PS2 game and the new animations are excellent, but the frame rate isn't as smooth as we'd like it to be. It's also a big disappointment that online play is nowhere to...

An Emphatic Improvement From FIFA 08

I am an avid soccer fan and subsequently, an avid fan of EA Sports FIFA series. It seems like no matter how the last years installment fared, I always find myself buying the newest version of the game almost as soon as it comes out. Sometimes I wonder...
