Final Fantasy X

Introduction

The game is the benchmark for RPG's to come. Square's unique story telling ability and their magic to completely immerse us into a world of fantasy and awe gives this game the power to bring a grown man to tears and a crazed gamer to fall in love.

Final Fantasy X

The advent of CD and DVD technology has given developers an almost infinite easel to paint their stories upon. Once up a time, players would fawn over sprite based animation endings (Metroid and the Square SNES RPGs). Now, intro movies can last longer...

Final Fantasy X shows why each new release in the series is so eagerly anticipated. It is another great achievement in both scale and substance.

Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy. Those two words used to conjure up gaming excellence in the minds on thousands of gameplayers around the world. The game got so popular in Japan, that the government asked Square to release FF 7 on a weekend, so kids wouldn't ditch class...

Anyway, if the gamer in your life hasn't played this one yet, you might want to find 'em a cheap copy on Ebay, and show 'em some love this wintertime.

Final Fantasy X

In terms of gameplay, FFX has mastered the good RPG gameplay and has added more to it. The battles are similar to other Final Fantasies, but the number of fighters has changed back from four to three. However, in a fight, all of your characters are...

Overall, Final Fantasy X will lie in the hearts of many as one, if not the, best RPG of all time. It is a must buy for all owners of PS2, RPG fan or not and it will give you a good 80-90 hours out of it if you want to do all the sidequests and...

Final Fantasy X

Square's latest epic is so brilliant that it makes you forget its abomination of a movie.

Deep customization systems. Charming characters. Excellent tutorials. Strong voice acting. Exquisite graphics, especially the cutscenes

Music is incongruous. Extremely linear. No world map. Load times interrupt story and game flow. Some jagged graphics

Final Fantasy X review for the PS2

The Finale Continues.

Stunning graphics; Solid story and consistent world; Rich music; Cool battle system; Above average...Voices

A bit too linear; Sometimes too much watching; Can't skip through scenes; Item customization interface

But with the steps forward come a few backward, like the inability to scene skip and the overly linear flow. Ultimately, it's up to you to figure out if it's as fantastic as it should be. For my money, I say it's pretty darn close.

Final Fantasy X

If history is any indication, a transition to a new platform for the Final Fantasy series can be fraught with controversy. The last platform change for Square's ridiculously popular RPG franchise gave us many cries of a supposed (but nonexistent)...

The ability to bring any inactive character into the fray puts every character at your disposal and assures you're never without Yuna's healing magic, Lulu's damage spells, or Auron's ability to crush enemies' defenses. Of course, having all these...

Final Fantasy X is the first in the series to make it to the Playstation 2, and it makes a strong case for being the best yet. An interesting variety of characters, some of the series most...

Now onto the graphics...WOW. Graphically, FFX is among the best of the best. The backgrounds are beautiful and brightly lit, the characters are very detailed and move very convincingly, ...

Two heads are better than one. I always thought that statement would depend on the heads, but hey, who am I to question conventional wisdom. Well, after completing Final Fantasy 10, we decided to give some joint opinions and perspectives on the game....
