After playing Vanillaware's previous PS2 effort Odin Sphere I would be lying if I said I wasn't just as stoked to jump into their next title. Much to my surprise...

GrimGrimoire is a 2D real-time strategy game from NIS America. It has been localized and brought here for our pleasure.

Lastly, some of the combat objectives aren’t all that exciting, and while things almost always heat up near the end, there tends to be more downtime than we’d expect from a mostly real-time strategy title. Just as a "for instance,” the first real...

Come learn the ways of magic!

The music and sound effects in GrimGrimoire are great. All of the music is composed well and fits with the feel of the game greatly. The voice acting can be listened to in both English and Japanese, and amazingly both are well done also. As mentioned...

Grim Grimoire

Sony and the PlayStation may have moved on to bigger and better things but the PS2 is still alive and kicking. There are plenty of titles still being released and some of them are even doing so to critical acclaim. If you have your finger on the pulse...

GrimGrimoire is another game released by publisher Nippon Ichi that fans will want to give a spin. It's not the most intuitive RTS in the world but it is certainly one of the most colorful and personable. In the end it's a flawed game that offers some...

Real time strategy is a divisive genre among gamers. On one hand you've got people like me who can't complete StarCraft without cheating and get annihilated by Kain every time he boots up Red Alert. On the other you've got Korean StarCraft champions...

Not too long ago, Vanillaware struck gold with a game I loved to death, Odin Sphere. The quirky 2D world and the memorable characters combined with a tried and true but innovative combat system was a blast, and a very refreshing game at the end of the...

It may be average when it comes to combat mechanics, but it gets a high score in the story and character department. If you want a game with a plot that makes sense and a memorable cast, this is for you.

Solid, unique, exciting strategy gameplay, great artwork, a weird and hefty story, and "J-cute" in just the right, cartoony ways -- there are lots of gamers out there who have been dying for a game like GrimGrimoire, and they don't even know it yet.

Hold on, because the story of GrimGrimoire gets weird quickly: Players take the role of Lillet, the new kid at a prestigious school of magic (offering courses in Sorcery, Alchemy, Glamour and Necromancy). What you might think -- understandably, but...

Product Specifications

Lillet Blan was very excited. Her heart had been racing since the moment she heard. Lillet had been invited to enroll into a magic academy where only talented youths were personally sought out by the greatest wizards. The school was lead by the famous wizard, Gammel Dore, who had once defeated the Archmage. And the campus on which they study, the Silver Star tower, was once the destroyed Arhmage's castle. The tower was still full of unsolved mysteries and dangers, and this attracted many who had their own personal reasons in mind. Lillet had opened her first grimoire, and began her studies. But only five days later, a terrifying disaster threatens the academy, and all lives are lost. All except she, who had traveled back through time without knowing why... Can Lillet come closer to the truth by reliving those repeating days? Can she end the nightmare at the end of those five days?
