Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol

Konami has brought the hit television show "American Idol" to the PlayStation 2 console with "Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol", but it doesn't quite live up to the name.

Great special effects ; Top notch sound quality ; Song list is pretty well rounded ; Great multiplayer enhances an already fun experience

American Idol" additions are sub par at best ; Not as many songs as past titles in the series ; Where's Paula

If you like "American Idol", this isn't the game to buy and will only frustrate you with the amount of flawed additions based on the television show. If you just want to sing, though, this is definitely a keeper. Buy it if you like to sing or if you're...

If you like the idea of a game similar to Guitar Hero, except with singing instead of guitar playing, here is the game for you. Even if you aren’t the best singer out there, this game can, nevertheless, be fun.

I imagine, at one point, there were simultaneous meetings at both FOX and Konami. FOX was sitting on the American Idol IP hoping someone would make a good game with singing. Konami was sitting on Karaoke Revolution wishing they could come up with a...

Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol review for the PS2

Humming to America.

Good use of the franchise material; Character creation; Lots of modes and game types; Lots of songs

That are old and cheesy; Inaccurate notation; Judges' comments and voices are patchy

We have now six actual American Idols-cursed be ye graven images!-and six Karaoke Revolution games. There is no end in sight of the train of false idols (mind your Hebraic law, people) or "revolutionary" imitation singing.

You may not be going to Hollywood in the real world but this game will make you feel like it's a real possibility..

Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol

It was only a matter of time until these two massive franchises met. It's like Sonny and Cher, Tina and Ike, peanut butter and jelly… err… okay, maybe not quite like them, but they were still destined to meet. Previously, games bearing the American...

The perfect marriage of Karaoke Revolution and American Idol ; Incredibly good presentation ; Judge’s panel is a valuable addition to the game that actually points out the flaws in your performance

No Paula Abdul ; Judge’s comments are sometimes repetitive and even occasionally self-conflicting ; Bonus video clips are cut so short one wonders why they were even included ; No dance pad support like Karaoke Revolution Party had? How’s a star...

The quality we’ve come to expect from the Karaoke Revolution series meets with a great presentation that makes full use of the American Idol license (Paula Abdul notwithstanding), making for a solid karaoke game bound to make you happy (provided you...
