Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

There's not much else Konami can do with the franchise on PS2, but it's still the best version out.

Master League cross-compatible with PSP game; much better than 360 and PS3 versions

Doesn't feel that different from PES 2007, including half-hearted online

As any PES fan can tell you, you'll spend nearly as much time editing kits and squads as you'll spend playing. The issue of licensing has always been a thorny one for this series. Since 2006's Winning Eleven 9, Konami has been able to nab one or two...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 Review

The gaming choice of the discerning football fan is back once again just as the real world of football reaches fever pitch...

Enhanced AI ; Improved graphics ; Good commentary at last

Some official licenses have been lost ; Online play currently has a lot of lag ; No dream team feature from last year's PS2 game

All in all, PES 2008 adds significant depth and realism to the in-game experience. Seeing as this is what appeals most to the average PES gamer, we can state quite confidently that this year's game is a resounding success.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

PES 2008 on PS2 is an excellent football game that is perfect for newcomers to the series, but just don't expect it to all that different to PES 6.

Stats galore ; Plays great

Nothing much has changed ; Online is broken

It's hard to knock PES 2008 if judged on its own merits. PES is a series with a large hardcore following, though, and for those people this PS2 game will be far too similar to PES 6 and therefore can't be recommended to those players. It's still an...

Halfway between the pitch and changing rooms.

Without the embarrassing frame rate of its next-gen cousin, Pro Evo 2008 is a low-key, but dependable, entry in the once thriving footy franchise. The formula here has already been pillaged, but it’s not as suicidal as the PS3 version.

Somewhere during the evolution of gaming, there was a relatively small genre know as stealth-action who’s main focus was on government spies or assassins of some sort. It wasn’t mainstream but it had big names such as Splinter Cell, Tenchu and ...
