Note: It's worth noting that this is a dual layer DVD game, so if your system has issues with those, you might want to rent the game or borrow it from a friend before buying it only to find that it won't play in your system.

Starting with the company's first project, Dark Cloud, developer Level-5 has basically mastered the cel-shaded, 3D, action-based RPG. In a short amount of time, the company has won tremendous respect from its peers and gamers throughout the industry,...

A diverse cast of characters, with an interesting storyline despite being presented in a slightly shallow manner ; A deep, yet elegant, real-time battle system that gives the player good control over the flow of battle, and competent ally A.I. to go...

Characters repeat the same lines far too often while exploring ; I lost my patience with the dungeons, with a few that seemed to drag on pointlessly forever ; The storyline and characterization is good, but a little shallow by typical RPG standards

Despite the huge areas, both in cities and dungeons, the framerate is rock solid and virtually never wavers. There is a little bit of draw-in though, so you'll occasionally see an area before you can see the people and/or objects in it. More impressive...

Interesting crafting systems; Requires some grinding

Rogue Galaxy is like a Thanksgiving dinner - the main course is pretty standard fare, but the trimmings make it really tasty. In other words, the game features a turkey of a plot, but a ton of side activities and small touches that really spice up the...
