Super Monkey Ball has proven itself to be a singularly bizarre, unique game series. You could draw some flimsy comparisons to Marble Madness, but even then you're not giving Sega credit for SMB's potent cocktail of three-dimensional puzzle-solving and...

Super Monkey Ball (GameCube)

As gaming has matured, games have grown in complexity. Complex games have their place in the market, but sometimes you just feel like something different. Sega is one of those companies known for fairly regular treks into the "something different"...

For those who haven't been paying much attention in recent years, SEGA has had a new puzzle/platforming game that has been quite successful. The

It is really unfortunate to see a game that has had so much success in the past struggle as much as Super Monkey Ball Adventure does on the PSP. Most people who pick up this game I believe are going to be disappointed from start. This is a game that...

Super Monkey Ball Adventure

After five years of filling the console scene with just puzzle-filled games, Sega has enlisted the services of Traveller's Tales to take the Super Monkey Ball crew out of that comfort zone and place them in a pseudo-platforming adventure, with classic...

Taken as a whole, this isn't a terrible game, just a very disappointing one. If you want to get the most out of it, buy it for the new puzzles and not the story mode. Also, unless you've got a burning desire to play new SMB puzzles right now, just wait...

[Mini-Review] Super Monkey Ball Adventure

So this is why the monkeys never left those puzzle stages before.

With only the puzzles of Challenge Mode and the Party Mode games to save it, SMBA would have been better off as just another puzzle game -- except it's not nearly as good as the puzzle games.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure

It's got monkeys and it's got balls, but this adventure is anything but super

The controls remain solid ; Minigames and arcade levels distract ; Traveller's Tales got some work

The adventure is not worth taking ; The camera system is lacking ; Inferior to its predecessors

Super Monkey Ball Adventure

Monkeys have a lot of fun, but they're just no good at adventures.

Packs in classic puzzles and party games; Monkey Cannon is a great new mini-game

The main adventure just doesn’t hold up; annoying loadtimes and other small irks

In fact, for a game with a storyline out of a second-rate children's cartoon, the game can feel pretty punishing. When you take on a task like helping a beekeeper collect his bees (by precisely bouncing through a series of midair trampolines) or...

Super Monkey Ball 2

Sega seems badly stunted in the anal phase of Freudian development. Not only is their game based around monkeys running inside balls maneuvering about hazardous environments, Super Monkey Ball 2 is full of cut scenes that declare "The magic spell is...

Super Monkey Ball 2 review

Just a few words can rap Super Monkey Ball 2 up: the ultimate party game. Super Monkey Ball 2 is a flat out huge puzzle game with 150 new solo-player levels to adventure through, new characters and 12 multiplayer games, including monkey tennis,...

Really, the only major complaint that I have is the sound, which really isn't a huge complaint. Solo-player gets repetitive after a while, but it still has very fun, unique and challenging gameplay. Controls and multi-player action are both great,...
