Good adaptation, with easy to use controls ; Nice details (ice makes you slide around) ; Good voice work from Richards ; Makes you use your head ; You can use the alethiometer

Dodgy accents for supporting characters ; Younger kids might struggle with harder puzzles

The Golden Compass strikes just the right balance between youthful arctic adventure and strategy puzzle solver. Fans of the book will probably be much happier with the game compared to the film.

This is a good game for the kids or for a relaxing evening without having to think too much about where or what you have to do. I have not seen the film so I did not have any expectations, though saying that I was left behind a bit as to what or who...
